The only thing good about this experience was the taste of the food. We called 3 hours early for a reservation. When we got there, they had given our table to someone else even though we were early for our reservation time. After scrambling to put together another table for us, they sat us down. 10 minutes after being seated the waitress came and got our drink orders, we tried to put in our food order too, but were stopped with oh hold on let me get your drinks. Everyone but 1 person got their drinks brought. We placed our dinner orders. And waited. They brought bread but I had to flag down the hostess for the olive oil and vinegar that normally sits at the table. No one came to refill our waters. My mother in law still didn't get her hot water and lemon. I tried flagging down 3 different individuals and made eye contact with 2 of them and was still ignored. Finally the manager came to the table. I let her know that we needed water's refilled and that my MIL still didn't have her drink either. By now we had been there 25 minutes and we got our water refilled and MILs drink. We still didn't have food, and now we had been sitting for another 20 minutes with no one checking our glasses for refills. The manager come out again and tells us our food will be ready in 2 minutes apologized and left. Another 5 minutes go by and the waitress comes out and tells us just 2 more minutes, we tell her we are about ready to just leave because we had now been at the restaurant for a little over an hour at this point. They finally bring out the food and it's the only good thing about the night. The manager comes out and tells us she's willing to give a free dessert (we don't like sweets) and won't offer compensation for the wait time. Instead she gets an attitude states what time the order was put in shrugs and says it's made from scratch. I get the bill and they charged me for food we didn't even order!! When I bring it to their attention the waitress talks over me and starts getting rude and arguing with me about it. I just wanted them to make it right, I didn't want a free meal, but was treated like all I wanted was to come in and get a hand out. I am insulted, flabbergasted and appalled that this is how the treat their guests and won't...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurant experiences my life and, believe me, I have had a lot of restaurant experiences!!
First off, it’s my husband’s birthday. We didn’t even bother telling them it was a special event because from the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be awful. The waitress told us so…in a very awkward and annoyingly gleeful way.
We were seated at about 7:00pm. About 15 minutes later, the server finally showed up to take our drink orders. We didn’t get those drinks until another 15 minutes had elapsed. We ordered food for our party of 7. We waited for that food for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Well actually, my salad with salmon on top was served after 50 minutes but it sat in front of me for 20 minutes before our server noticed nobody else had their food and offered to take it back and serve it with the rest of the meals.
Meanwhile, we sat with empty drink cups and barely a visit from any employee to let us know the status of our dinner. Finally I walked to the front and asked the hostess if there was a manager I could talk to. The manager didn’t even come meet with me but rather went to my table instead and told my (maybe he was less scary??) husband our food would be right out and that it would be discounted.
When the food finally arrived (except for my aforementioned salad, which they forgot about and had to be reminded) the chicken dishes tasted like fish. Good thing we didn’t have any fish allergies in the family or that could have been even more disastrous than the rest of the meal.
When they delivered our bill, they had given us a “whopping” 10% discount... And then charged us full adult price for a $6 kids meal we ordered. When we pointed that out, instead of fixing it, they said they’d bump it up to a 15% discount, which, if you do the math, made them still come out ahead.
Dishonest, horrible service, and food that wasn’t worth the money or the wait.
Go somewhere else. Especially if it’s your husband’s birthday and you want a...
Read moreHad a great dinner at Chef Alfredo's This was our first time eating at Chef Alfredo's and it won't be our last. My husband and I went here tonight to celebrate our anniversary. When you walk in to the restaurant you feel as though you have been transported to Boston's North End. We sat in a both with a single white real candle waiting to be lite. No battery operated tea light here. The dipping sauce was awaited our arrival for our 5:30 reservation. The bread arrives shortly after being seated it was warm and super delicious. You could certainly live on bread and water here. We ordered two apples, the Polpette Trio - Three each of meatballs, fried fresh mozzarella, and fried zucchini. Served with marinara sauce and Vongole di Sicilia Baked clams with parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and capers, topped with garlic butter sauce. Yummy nothing was left on the plate. My main course was Pollo Avalone Chicken breast stuffed with ricotta cheese, crab meat, and shrimp, topped with béchamel sauce and pesto mashed potatoes with Edna Valley Chardonnay. I have never had pesto mashed potatoes and they were very good and green! My husband ordered Vitello Con Carciofi Veal medallions sautéed in olive oil, with artichoke hearts, green peppercorns and sundried tomatoes with a side of veggies. This was one of the best true dining experiences we have had here in Cedar. We had the opportunity to enjoy our appetizer without feeling rushed for our main course. Our dining experience was almost two hours long. So for those of you who want an Italian dining experience without feeling rushed this is your place. If you want a quick in and out go to the pizza joint on Main Street. Chef Alfredo's is first rate. Who knew this gem was in Cedar City, well...
