Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Cedar City

I've only been here once, but so far I'm loving this place. I've been getting sick of eating junk food around the holidays, so I decided to try some place healthy.

I went through the drive-thru but ordering was simple, and I got my food in pretty good time. I got the Chipotle Chicken Flatbread sandwich as well as the kale/apple slaw and the Detox green smoothie drink.

The flatbread sandwich did feel a bit small for what you pay for, however, the quality of the ingredients were good enough that I felt like it made up for that discrepancy. the chicken tasted delicious, the produce had a great taste to it, and I was satisfied after eating this.

The kale/apple slaw was what was the big question for me. I don't like kale, but decided to try it anyway because I need to eat healthier and kale is a "superfood" so it can only be beneficial to me. I took out my cup of slaw, got my fork, and went for a dive. I was very impressed. It tasted a lot better then I had thought! It wasn't overly "kale-y" tasting, and the apples had a good, mellow taste to it which helped distract from the bitter taste that kale brings.

I had a similar experience with my smoothie. My smoothie contained kale and spinach, and with the tropical flavors that it contained as well, those flavors were able to really balance out the bitter flavor of the greens that it contained. Not only that but it mellowed out the sweetness of the fruit as well so that it didn't taste overly sweet either. I'd say it was a really good balance of flavors without anything overpowering the other.

Overall I rather enjoyed my experience here. The food was good, the service was quick and the staff was friendly and helpful. I do plan on going back to this location, and possibly the other location in the area to see how...

There are a few issues the staff don't payattion to the orders. This is the 3rd time this month we have had an issue. First of all I have food allergies so if I ask you not to put onions on my food maybe you should learn to read. Second the order was set to be ready at 11:56 my husband had to asking it was our food sitting on the back drive through window counter. We finally received our food at 12:30... this is after he talked to 3 of the workers and had one of them tell him it wasn't made yet but would be soon. This whole time it was getting cold and sitting there..... the staff have been super rude evey time he asked if it was done. Our daughter was late to school because they don't care about paying attention to the orders. We had been there for 45 minutes waiting to be given cold and made wrong food so yes I'm not happy with the service. This is the 3rd time this month alone we have had issues with this location. Yesterday was a long day and I was starving. So, I head to my favorite place to eat, Tropical Smoothie on Airport Road. When I pull up to the drive thru they tell me that they are only accepting cash and if that’s ok to continue ordering. I tell them it’s fine and order my smoothie (which they get wrong about 70% of the time so I always check it before I drive away) then I proceed to order a wrap. She tells me they close in 30 minutes and so the food menu is not available. 30 minutes early seems a bit soon to be shutting down items, especially when you don’t offer much in the first place. I told her I would go elsewhere because I was hungry. I had to wait about 15 minutes in the drive thru to get out as there were people behind me. I saw that the dining room already had chairs up on tables as well. I got the distinct impression that the employees were shutting things down early so they could go home right at 10. I was...
