We started out the dinner with a great experience, the server (Laila) was very nice and the menu was a good variety. I ordered the Paloma Margarita and the first one was very good, not too sweet and just the right amount of tequila. We ordered chicken fingers for the kids, which were menued with beans and rice. The kids food came out and fries were with the chicken fingers instead. We mentioned this to our server and she said they always come with fries. We explained that the menu didn't say that and could we please have the rice and beans as stated on the menu. I don't know if this bothered her, but after this the service got bad. I ordered another margarita and my spouse ordered a margarita as well. This time it seemed as if someone else made the drinks because mine tasted completely different and my spouse's drink tasted like juice. We mentioned this to our server and she said, "Well, maybe it's a different ratio." Um...ok. Having worked in restaurants for over 15 years, including owning my own for over 5 years - this is not an acceptable answer. She didn't apologize or offer to have it remade. So, we didn't drink them as they were undrinkable. Our food came a while later (there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant) and we asked for to go boxes so we could get the kids to bed. We also ordered a fried ice cream to go to take back to our hotel room(hotel attached to the restaurant). When we got our check we noticed that she charged us for the undrinkable margaritas and for 4 shrimp (we had ordered 2 shrimp for our son as an add on). We asked for the margaritas to be taken off and she said she couldn't. We then asked for a manager and got the run around saying he was running back and forth and then told he wasn't there. She said she was unable to adjust the bill without him there. Now, anyone who has worked in the restaurant business knows there has to be someone on site during a shift that can adjust a bill if needed. If a server accidentally put in the wrong item, it would need to be fixed, etc. So, this was a lie. This was very disappointing how the server just really didn't care and maybe it's because she knew we were traveling through so thought it doesn't matter because we won't be back. However, if that is the case that is a poor attitude to have and we would have been back every time we travel through because the food was quite good and it is cute inside. BUT, because of the lie and lack of care for customers we will never be back even when we stay at the hotel again. I would not recommend this place to anyone, there are plenty of other restaurants in the town that are far...
Read moreMy recent visit to Puerto Vallarta Jalisco was nothing short of spectacular, an experience that was elevated by their exceptional service and culinary prowess. From the moment we were seated, the attentive staff ensured our water cups were perennially full, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about their commitment to guest satisfaction.
The star of the evening, however, was the molcajete. This traditional Mexican dish was not only a feast for the palate but also a spectacle for the eyes, arriving at our table theatrically presented with flames dancing across its surface. The sizzling ingredients nestled within the volcanic stone mortar were a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, each component perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The molcajete's contents, a mix of succulent meats, savory cheeses, and a rich, aromatic sauce, were complemented by the warm, freshly made tortillas served alongside. Every bite was a delightful journey through the vibrant culinary landscape of Mexico, expertly crafted and presented with flair.
Beyond the food, the ambiance of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco added to the dining experience. The warm, inviting atmosphere, coupled with the staff's genuine hospitality, made us feel truly welcome and appreciated. It was clear that the restaurant prides itself not only on its culinary excellence but also on creating a memorable experience for every guest.
In summary, Puerto Vallarta Jalisco stands out as a gem in the culinary scene, offering not just amazing food but also impeccable service. The molcajete, with its dramatic presentation and exquisite taste, is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to authentic, high-quality Mexican cuisine. I eagerly look forward to my next visit, confident in the knowledge that it will be as remarkable...
Read more**Updated Review as of 3/29/24 Today, I have to give a not so good review... Normally, the service and food is spot on. Tonight, we came for my husband's birthday. I ordered my normal Mole Poblano and it didn't come with the fried plantains. When I asked the waiter about it, he said that the dish doesn't come with them anymore. To which I am calling bull crap because I ordered it a few days ago and it did. That and the menu said it does. So our waiter straight up lied! Not only that, we had to wait for about 10 minutes for our drinks to come out.... Which sucks when you are snacking on chips and salsa. We weren't asked if we wanted any dessert. After they brought to-go boxes and dropped off the check, it took our waiter a good 15 minutes to come back for the payment... My husband and kids had time to go to the bathroom and come back...As much as I love the mole at this place, the service seriously stunk tonight and I don't see us returning anytime soon! Very disappointed in the service!

While a little pricey, these guys are amazing! Seriously, almost as good as the food I got in Mexico! We've had so many different things off the menu, that I can't pin down anything that I am a super fan of... The food is just that good! The only thing I wish they would do better, is the dessert! Lacking in the authentic Mexican dessert department! That and our servers seem to get offended when we cross our the tip on the receipt. Hello, some people, like us, leave cash tips! Not going to stuff you if the...
