Place used to have great Philly cheesesteaks, burgers, hotdogs, and wraps but has obviously gotten new owners or something from a few years ago. Ordered 3 Philly cheesesteaks, paid for extra green peppers, onions, and mushrooms and both literally had one small slice of green pepper and not enough grilled onions or mushrooms to taste and all three were half as big as they used to be and very dry. Single Chicago dog that automatically comes with fry’s is now $6 and fry’s with every sandwich were all pretty over done yet soggy from the way they packaged everything in styrofoam now. Used to have a gyro wrap that was amazing and pretty large however now you have to order a Greek wrap and add gyro meat which would be fine if it wasn’t less than half the size and they put no lettuce on wrap that listed lettuce as the first ingredient and did the same with the grilled chicken wrap which was also less than half of the old ones. Ordered a regular gyro which they also hardly put any meat on compared to before. Last thing was fried pickles which was the only good thing in a $76 order. Don’t leave many reviews or comments unless something is really good or really bad and Dickys has sadly fallen from former to latter category, it’s really sad to see a place we used to eat at regularly decline so much from what I’m guessing is new owners. This has happened twice now(regrettably gave a second chance after last time because of what it used to be, unfortunately to a much larger order) Please save your money and time and go somewhere else in the region, there are still quite a few places to get the same foods that are much better quality and better portions and prices. Hopefully this’ll save someone from the disappointment of a very poor meal. This is definitely not the same place as it used to be if you also used to enjoy going there like us :( Definitely will not be giving a third chance to new owners! And no I’m not just cheap or someone who just likes to find something to complain about, it takes a lot to get me to take the time to write a review like this… something either has to be very good or in this...
Read moreWent there on 7/22 around 7pm . . . ordered 2 "Italian Beef Sandwiches" w/cheese & dipped, 1 w/hot peppers and an order of "Onion Rings". Upon opening the sandwiches, we noticed that the order was wrong; both sandwiches were garnished w/hot peppers. Also, the cheese that was put on top of the beef was minimal, cold & mainly unmelted keeping it's shredded form, the peppers were also cold which doesn't help to keep a hot sandwich hot. I don't know what Dicky's definition of "dipped" is but the buns were also served virtually dry with no Au jus on the side included. To make matters worse, the frozen fries that came with the sandwiches were cold, limp and soggy and when I bit into an onion ring old fry oil poured out of the opening.
The wrong order . . . when the sandwich was returned to the counter for rectification, my wife asked if the cheese could be melted more on the remake, she was told "no" . . . obviously Dicky's uses the beef to melt the cheese instead of an oven or salamander.
Another disappointing factor about Dicky's Dogs is their lack of reply's/comments to low rated Google reviews . . . they only reply to the positive . . . Hey Dicky, positive reviews wont help you eliminate the faults within your business . . . they will only solicit more unhappy customers if improvements aren't made.
In the meantime, if you're looking for an outstanding Italian Beef Sandwich in the vicinity of Dicky's Dogs go to Lake Dale Ale @ 5512 W. Main St. Lowell . . . you won't be...
Read moreThis place is okay. The place itself is different, and I like the look and feel. However, their food is just okay, and for the price, I expect much better quality and taste. They are the most expensive taco joint in Lowell by far. The biggest issue I have besides the taste is the wait. We've visited this establishment a handful full of times since we moved in, and there hasn't been a single time that the food has been ready. I always call ahead and order, I am always told 15 minutes until it's ready, and it's always ready way beyond that. Last time, it was 45 minutes from when I called to when it was ready. That's sitting and waiting for 30 minutes. This time was better, onky because I came over 30 minutes after ordering and guess what, still wasn't ready. Then, when I got home, I asked for double rice since I'm not getting beans, but I still got only one thing of rice in each taco dinner.... don't worry though I got chips and salsa for the wait. Yay.... 🙄
This will be our last time visiting. Really makes me miss living...
