My friend and I came for a brunch/coffee date on a weekday. We heard the weekends were busy, so decided to check this place out on a weekday. There were maybe 4 other people in there with us, we stayed around 1.5-2hours. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly, and told us we could sit anywhere and they would bring the menu to us. It was VERY clean and I loved the interior of the restaurant.
Coffee menu had great choices, I ended up getting the cookie latte. It was good! I ordered the Tres Golpes, which I'm familiar with from having it at my friends' houses. The mangu was good, and there was a good serving of it (I noticed from old reviews they seemed to have improve the presentation and amount). Salami is always good, can't go wrong with that. Could I have used another piece? Definitely, but that would probably be the salami greed in me. Runny egg, cheese, and onions were cooked well imo. I know it's blasphemy, but I did ask for hot sauce (I'm a spicy palate girl) and they did have sriracha for me to use, so I was satisfied. I also ordered the chimi for my husband to take home. He said it was a good 5/5.
I would definitely come again to try the other coffee choices and other food menu items, or just get the tres golpes again....
Read moreI’ll be honest, I was a little hesitant to try Gigi’s Café in Cedar Grove after reading some of the reviews online, but I’m so glad I didn’t let that stop me. I came here to meet friends, and from the moment we walked in, I realized the reviews didn’t reflect the experience at all.
The café is bright, clean, and thoughtfully put together. It has that fresh, modern feel without being overly trendy or cold. Our server, David, was amazing. He was incredibly kind and accommodating, especially considering we had a three-year-old with us. He answered all of our questions, gave thoughtful suggestions, and genuinely seemed to know the menu inside and out.
We ordered a variety of dishes: the avocado toast, an omelet, a croissant cheeseburger (yes, it was as good as it sounds), and a bunch of drinks including lattes and fruity refreshers. Everything was delicious. No complaints from anyone in the group, which says a lot.
Even the little things stood out. The bathroom was clean (which matters more than people think), the service was smooth, and the overall vibe was welcoming and relaxed.
This place was such a pleasant surprise, and I’d absolutely come back again. Definitely don’t let the negative reviews keep you from giving it a try. We had...
Read morei love this spot, great place to work or study from. Been here a few times and coffee drinks are great, options are great as well. the atmosphere is amazing and the service is always great. and the place is always spotless. However, the food is a tad lacking. i’ve tried quiet a few things so far and haven’t really liked anything so in my opinion the food could use some work. for example, i wanted avocado on my breakfast sandwich and i got what seemed like jar avocado spread for $2.50 extra; i feel like that should be real avocado slices. it would also elevate the freshness of the dishes so much more. The croissant on my breakfast sandwich was the most rubbery croissant i’ve ever had, i couldn’t bite or cut into it at all. i couldn’t even pull it apart lol. i also got avocado spread on my avocado queen arepa instead of actual avocado which was also kind of bland and the shredded cheese on my arepa was cold and wasn’t melted as you can see in the picture. i got the guacamole with tostones and you can tell the “guacamole” was also jarred, you could see it in the texture and taste. ill continue to try their food as i do enjoy everything else here! i just want to offer feedback to help elevate their dishes and make the prices...
