Update: I'm going to give it to you straight. Me and my mom had such a great time I decided to bring my whole family of 6. That was a huge mistake. It took a while about 20 mins for anyone to even approach us after they seated us. When the waitress finally did come she was so terrible. She only brought out 4 biscuits. It's 6 of us so 2 people were left out. We didn't receive anymore until the very end of our meal. Also they only brought out one bowl of sides for our whole table when the food was brought out. So I had to eat hot chicken with no sides. Then much much later when she came back to the table I was able to get hot sides to eat with my now cold chicken. Stay with me bc it gets worse. We paid all that money for drinks only not to get a refill until she brought the check. The waitress would not even bring us straws when she initially brought our drinks we had to finally ask someone else. They appeared to have 2 managers very close to us that seen what was going on with our table and they did not care. I will not come with my family again. The food was still good, but the way we were treated was terrible. I'll still get a To go banana pudding. I'm sad it was a completely different experience than the first time which was great. Guess everyone has bad days so I'm not mad.
Guaranteed to get full. Wonderful place to eat out. I came in with my mom and had a great time. We really enjoyed it. The Fried chicken and fish was season to perfection. Fried crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Endless mashed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans, salad, and biscuits. Everything was hot and fresh. Food came out on less than 10 mins. Jocelyn was very attentive. Making sure we had everything we needed. The singers and dancers were also very nice and very much appreciated. I will and already have recommend this place to my friends and family. Also you have to taste the banana pudding. One of the best I've tasted. I wish I had a photo but I basically swallowed all of...
Read moreThis was my 1st visit here and the food was pretty good. The seasonings on the sides were great. I had the fried catfish-- every side was the same for everyone, but you can choose which meat you want. The sides & drinks are all you can eat, not sure about the meat though since we just had 1 round of meat servings. I was ready to give this place a Hi-5 set of stars...UNTIL... as we were leaving there was this tall woman at the door (she was probably like a manager or something) who made the good food i was digesting turn in my stomach. We came as a group and some of us left sooner than others. As the remaining few of us were leaving her 1st words to us LITERALLY were: "did you all take care of the bill already???" The fact that I've been in cust service for over 2 decades as a phone & in-person rep...a chord of the wrong note was struck with me--that was NOT the right way to go about that. First of all..."ma'am, you didn't even speak or acknowledge us when we ALL walked in" (yes, she was standing right there at the door). Then she never gave a warm greeting or made us feel comfortable once we sat down--like normal managers who have groups come into their restaurant. But when she had the question about whether we had paid or not she should have gone to our waitress and asked her...not the group. I really wanted to give her a piece of my mind, because I felt profiled because when she FINALLY opened her mouth to us it was to make sure we weren't skipping on the tab. 1st let me say the bill was paid in full, directly to our waitress-- on the same ticket--BEFORE the 1st person even got up to leave--wirh no hesitation!!! She almost got "professionally" told off but I figured it best not to embarrass my management team on our work lunch--but rather leave a review about my experience!!! So will I be back?? Normally for satisfying food & great service i will drive to a restaurant even if it's a little further away. But for an encounter like that... I'm...
Read moreCan't find any useful information on the terrible website or on this Google page? Me neither, let me help. They're open for lunch and dinner separately during the week, so if you're late to lunch you'll have to wait 'till 5 to try again. Weekends they're open straight through.
Can't find a menu? That's 'cause there isn't one. Each person pays admission and gets to pick a type of meat for the table. If you appear to be a single person, like I often do, be sure to identify as as many people as you need to get yourself fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken fried steak, and catfish as you like. The table will already have salt and pepper, butter, a big thing of clover honey and a smaller thing of molasses for the biscuits they're going to bring you along with a bowl of lettuce covered in sweet vinegar. This acts as a promissory note, letting you know that food will be coming.
You'll also pick from coke products, tea, lemonade, or cherry limeade. Don't mess up and just get a coke you could get anywhere.
When your meat plates show up (they'll give you a separate eatin' plate) getcha some while it's hot. In the case of chicken options, you'll get half a chicken, for size reference. They'll also bring you a bowl of mashed potatoes, a bowl of chicken gravy, a bowl of wide cut green beans, and a bowl of corn. Be sure to dig into that next, as you'll be able to reorder your sides as many times as you like, but can't take them with you. The meat, on the other hand, you don't get more of without paying again, but you can take it with you and lay it next to your hammock for when you wake up from the first round of the itis (Postprandial Somnolence).
Admission is $18/ plus a few bux for drinks and/or dessert. Don't sleep on the pie, it's...
