Man I really wanted to love this place because I live so close and it would beat going far for good seafood. Things did start off good the staff was friendly and they even gave us a complimentary margarita which was nice. After that things just went downhill the food took forever to come and my son was super hungry so I had to ask for them to at least bring his food so he could start eating. Then they took forever to bring out my father’s salad and then came my parents food. Some of the food was already cold, who knows how long the sides had been sitting out. My parents finished eating and my food was still not ready, I had ordered a shrimp taco and they brought me fish taco so they said to keep it and they would make the other and still my shrimp basket was not out. The people next to us arrived later than we did and they got their food first and I was still waiting and they also had fried shrimp. As far as taste the shrimp or fish taco were bland and my mom’s pescado zarandeado was not seasoned well. My father’s food on the other hand was very good but did take a long time. It was just not a great experience I wish it had been I could walk to this place but very disappointed. At the end they did not charge for my food or any of our drinks which I appreciate but I wouldn’t have minded paying for it in other circumstances. I did try one of my shrimp when I got home and it was good just wish I would have enjoyed it at the restaurant. Unfortunately I will not be coming back. This was just my experience I hope it is better for other people and maybe since they just opened they aren’t well organized but I hope it gets better. It’s always about the first impression...

Reading the reviews I was so excited to try this new place with the most exciting fusion. Unfortunately we had a really bad experience, we were never asked what we wanted to drink we ended up just getting water and we were offered a margarita on the house. The drink was lukewarm, we finally ordered and the food took 45 ish minutes to arrive. My plate was missing the rice and beans and the tortillas, my fish was under seasoned and chewy I couldn’t get more than two bites after my daughter got us some silverware. My daughter got the catfish oh boy that thing was mushy, unseasoned and under cooked, my son ordered two fish tacos but got just one and we asked the server and her response was so rude saying we didn’t. When I asked for the check it was obvious she saw our plates almost untouched and she asked if we didn’t like it. We were honest and said no so she offered a dessert on the house which we appreciated but we were starving so we just paid and left. As a small restaurant owner I do understand that it may take time before it gets better but they need to train their staff and pay attention to the food. The flavors are...

My husband and I were excited to try this place, we figured we might not be able to get in considering it’s a Friday night. This unfortunately was the case, but that’s not really the part that upset us. There wasn’t a host station and when we walked into the restaurant we stood there for a good 5 minutes before my husband had to approach one of the waitresses to ask about a table. She then proceeded to tell us they were slammed and not serving food. This to us obviously wasn’t the problem either…

What was frustrating was how unorganized the entire process felt. There was no clear direction, no signage, and no one greeting or helping guests understand what to expect. The valet told us it would be a 5–10 minute wait, but that ended up being inaccurate and left us more confused. It honestly seemed like they bit off more than they could chew, and while the atmosphere itself was very cool, the lack of communication and overall unhelpfulness really soured the experience.

I hope they figure out a better system, because it seems like a place with potential, but right now the service experience is too chaotic...

Food wasn’t the greatest. Black beans were salty, catfish was very bland. Also ordered green chicken enchiladas…and the chicken was more like old chicken fajita meat…tough. There was hardly any cheese on them. Rice was ok. The service: after they brought us chips and salsa, we ordered our main dish and it took a very long time for the food to come out, despite the place being mostly empty. Our waitress lacked on the simple waitress duties. It took me about 7-10 minutes to get her attention to ask for a refill. She was busy laughing it up with other waitresses. I ordered 1/2 sweet, 1/2 unsweet tea, she refilled only unsweet. She was polite but very soft spoken to where we could hardly understand what she was saying. Needless to say, we wouldn’t eat here again.

I can’t do anything, but send prayers & blessings for Lela’s New Restaurant in Cedar Hill! To be able to meet the “Actual Owner”, while she’s literally boots on the ground; going around being of service & taking orders is just a True Blessing in itself… Then to accompany her Genuine Puerto Rican Hospitality, the food came out really hot & had a very organic and authentic taste! The Fried Redfish came with Fries, & the Ceviche Shrimp is served with Fried Tortillas and Crackers… Prime Location right off Beltline & 67, & the Restaurant brings an immediate intimate kind of Vibe upon arrival; offering seating inside & covered available options outside as well! I really look forward to supporting this business, & I do really wish Lela much success here too 🙏🏾
