I have an ex girlfriend who's parents lived in Mexico for the better portion of their lives. Her mom would make the most delicious authentic home cooked dishes and El Super Burrito is the winner when it comes to the closest quality, great tasting recreation of those dishes. I say closest because no one has truly reached her on an all around level I have tried all but 1 of the different restaraunts in CR
I have had off orders there as with ever restaraunt; I say orders because I've eaten there one to a few times a week since they opened and they do a geat job of taking the feedback and making me happy.
I know a lot of people rave about their shrimp tacos, I personally like getting ground beef flour tacos, ground beef sopes, and steak or ground beef burritos, I feel like no matter what Mexican restaraunts you go to if they cut up chunks of chicken and grill it....It goes a little to dry or over cooked for me, where steak has a way higher probability of still tasting great.
Bakery - I've had their chocolate chip cookies and tres leche....their both go tos for me and I need to explore more
Side note: maybe it was just my exes mom that made them to my liking, but I have yet to find a place that matches her tamales. Maybe it was the fact that they had the perfect mix of meat and cornmeal. Seems like everywhere I go they have a less meat and more cornmeal that's not as cooked and tasty. Hopefully someone can make it happen but with that being said.....this is the only burrito shop in my eyes that deserves 5 stars for authentic, flavorful dishes. When another Mexican restaurant steps up I will...
Read moreI ordered a simple entree of a ground beef and bean taco salad. I confirmed this was made with beans but when I got the taco salad there were NO BEANS. Not to mention most of the patrons in the restaurant received their food before I received this supposedly SIMPLE taco salad. Then I again confirmed that beans should be in the taco salad and again was told YES. I was given a COLD side of soupy beans. I mentioned the latter only to be asked 10 times Do you want beans in the taco salad" to which I replied YES. They then said they would remake my entire order. Another 10 minutes later I finally get a taco salad that should have been a 5 minute task and IT WAS STILL COLD! I'll never go back to this place even though others love their food. To me...poor service,...
Read moreThe staff are cordial and seem to be nice, the space could use a bit of a renovation but ok. Food was ok but the prices do not reflect the quality. Their bakery side is fine but their restaurant side on prices can be better for what they give you. They overload their burrito with more rice and beans to save on meat costs, which is unfortunately underseasoned. The burrito priced at 9.99 shiuld be realistically priced at 7.99 at most. They give you street taco sized tacos for their taco platter which they charged 12.99 for which should realisticlly be around 9.99 for the dish. Kinda skimpy on their portions over all. Other than thay the food is ok and would be good otherwise. I know times are tough but I really hope they can restrategize on their menu to improve a...
