First time eating at this location, and was really looking forward to it since my local P-Jax closed down. Walked in and one of the first things out of the shift leads mouth is that someone didnt show today, and that she is trying to complete a catering order. She took our order, for 2 burritos, and then had to grab more supplies from the back. She came out and started cooking our order, while the gentleman in front of us had his order used for a door dash order, and he had to settle for a random philly that was on the grill. We chose to dine in, amd got our drinks and sat down. About this time, the shift lead sent the pther employee to the front of store to clean tables. She had to get her cleaning buckets ready and slowly meandered out front and wiped down some tables. The shift lead then started yelling at her about not being behind the counter helping customers and doing work back there. The employee then started yelling back at the shift lead and those two continued to argue for several minutes with loud voices and a store full of people. The shift lead then walked out front and lock the doors to the store so no other customers could come in so she could finish completing the catering order, we have been in the store at this point for 20 minutes and she had been working on this catering order supposedly the whole time, while working on current customer orders and doordash orders. To customers came and tried to get in the store and knocked on the door very loudly and one of them tried calling the store to try and get in to no avail. It was very unfortunate when the Pepper Jack's Grill in the Quad Cities closed due to poor management, but I don't see this one staying open much longer if this is the experience people have. Read moreChecked out Pepper Jax tonight after listening to my co-worker rave about it a couple of weeks ago. And in all honesty, I give the food a solid 3 stars on taste. The other star is for Callie (sorry if I've misspelled her name) - whose customer service won me over the moment she greated me. I just knew that the food was going to be amazing and everything Brittany had said it was, and based on Callie's suggestions I ordered a philly cheese steak with onions and mushrooms and extra cheese (extra sliced cheese doesn't cost extra, FYI), cheese fries with the pepper jack, and I helped myself to a couple small ramekins of the mushroom sauce. I'm glad I did because it was delicious with the fries, and I wasn't a big fan of the pepper jack cheese sauce. It had a sweetness to it and I don't care for sweet and spicy together. The sandwich was good, but it was a bit salty, as were the fries. My lips are still burning a little from all the salt, and I'll probably get up to pee like three times tonight. I'm not gonna lie, I ate it all...every fry and both meatless ends of the bread crust, but not the cheese sauce. Again, glad I got the mushroom sauce, which Callie did an awesome job of describing all of the sauces to me when I asked about them. I couldn't resist adding a rice crispy bar treat to the bag, which I'll probably take to work with me tomorrow.
The managers at Pepper Jax should know they have a superstar at the grill and counter in Callie. She does the place a great deal of credit...she deserves...
Read moreThis location has been good in the past but yesterday went here and it was all new staff that didn’t have a clue what was going on and they served cold sandwiches and could not figure out how to cut the bread to fit the meat inside. Absolutely the worst pepperjax experience ever. I have visited a lot of pepperjax grills and this was by far the worst ever. I would not recommend my worst enemy eat here. The staff needs training and the new menu obviously says they are trying to put money before customer satisfaction. The small fry includes 7 frys so only order if you want a sample. I hope pepperjax figures this out because normally there is a line out the door and yesterday at noon there was 3 people there. Such a disappointment. I sent a review online and asked for them to contact me thinking I would be nice but 30+ hours later no contact. I guess they don’t care about their customers. Agai. I have been a loyal customer and I hope they turn t around but what is doubtful and they will probably be out of business first. Please...
