Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

Updating my review from two to four stars.

I've been back to this Scooters a few times since I left my initial review three months ago. I am now getting the large flavored coffees I ask for, and not a cup of hot syrup like that one time. So, thank you.

I still don't understand why Scooter's, and all of them do this, are so inconsistent with the refill price. It's all over the place. Today I was charged $2.94. Usually it's $1.02. Sometimes it's free. Any of those are fine. It's not like the three bucks will break me. I just don't understand the inconsistency.

Previous review: I don't go to this Scooters very often, but would like to as it's close to my work. However, today's experience has me thinking otherwise. In other Scooter's I ask for a large flavored coffee and I get a brewed coffee that is the flavor of the day, whether its hazelnut, caramel, or whatever. I don't really know the flavors anymore. All Scooters used to have the flavor of the day posted where customers could see it. That seems to be a thing of the past. Anyway. I asked the woman at the counter today for a large flavored coffee. She was very nice and polite, but she seemed confused as to what I wanted. I tried to explain that it's a brewed coffee but instead of light or dark roast, it has a little flavor to it. I'm not sure how else to describe a menu item to someone who works there, but I gave it a shot. What I was given was disgusting. I don't think there was any coffee it it. It tasted like someone warmed up some hazelnut syrup and dumped it into the cup. I would have asked if I could switch it out for something or maybe got a cup of coffee to mix with it or something, but I wasn't there long. Next time I will try to be more specific about what I want and if this Scooter's doesn't have the flavored brewed coffee, I will continue going to the Edgewood one. A lot of them know my order...

I happened to be in this location the other day getting a drink. The drink itself was amazing, but what happened while I was in there was a complete turn off and very appalling. While waiting for my drink all I could hear was a staff member yelling at another employee and the vulgar language and profanity that was being said to this employee was completely out of line. What was even more appalling is the young lady that came from the back after the screaming and profanity ended was a child. She obviously was old enough to work there, but she was still a child. Because of how that staff treated this young lady here, I will never return to...

This used to be my go-to scooters. I don't write reviews but after crying on my commute home as a direct result of the poor service I recieved, I decided I would today. I get the exact same 9$ drink every single day and in the past month this location not only messes up every single time I go, the service is slow and the staff are rude and uncompromising. They are continually out of simple ingredients like alternative milk or peanut butter. I came home today and had to throw away my drink. They messed it up once already and instead of remaking it, just blended in more ice. Don't waste...
