Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

Do NOT go here at night. There were 2 younger girls working that had NO IDEA what they were doing. It took over 20 minutes just to order and it would have taken longer but I gave up on them figuring out how to ring up my add on smoothie for anything but full price 🤦🏻‍♀️. The worst part was how completely rude and unapologetic the girl that was in charge (I assume) was. After 20 minutes of waiting for her to figure it out and for her boss to text her back, she had the audacity to tell me I just needed to be patient cuz they were putting their kid to bed...as my child sat patiently waiting for her food that they hadn't even started yet...as mine sat there melting 😳. I also saw that their boss HAD responded to her texts but she just still couldn't figure it out 😔. For the record I had ordered an açai bowl, a sandwich, a side salad and a kids meal and she ended up telling me that none of them qualified as food when on the menu it says $4.99 add on smoothie with ANY food purchase!!! I ended up paying full price but I will NEVER go to this location again. They also completely missed the smoothie on a door dashers order that showed up while I was there. The door dasher had to point it out to them 😬. Then it took them 10 minutes to get it made and the door dasher had to deliver cold food through no fault of their own. She also yelled at someone for parking in the "pick up spot" when they were ordering to go even though the parking lot was almost completely empty...seriously just the absolute worst...

It seems very disorganized. I ordered at 1:06 pm and got my smoothie quickly. I did not receive my food until 1:30. By then one of my wraps was cold because they weren't made at the same time. The girl who seemed to be manager on shift was touching screens, registers, and food without changing gloves in between. There was a guest who walked in waiting for a online order, the order must not have gone through the system. The employees were very rude to her, and then after she got her smoothie and left they began talking bad about her loud enough to be heard over the blenders, music, and other guests speaking.
