This location doesn't even deserve one star. I was hungry for spaghetti tonight so I searched on line for locations and hours as I'm staying at a friends home for the weekend. The business hours were posted until 9pm and it was just about 8pm so I decided to call to place an order for pickup. I called for 20 minutes and each time I called, I let the phone ring 10 to 20 times. I called up until 8:20pm with no success of anyone answering the phone so I decided to drive there as this location is 10 minutes from my friends home. When I got there the door was unlocked and as soon as I walked in, they said they were closed. I pointed out their hours on the door as well as what the website said and they replied with, well that's wrong and we're closed. I then stated that I had been calling since 8 pm to place an order for pick up and wanted to know why they didn't answer their phone. They had absolutely nothing to say so I let them know that I would be filing a complaint with their manager. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION...
Read moreIt use to be called Zio Johno's but they've changed it to Via Sofia's. Well what ever they decide to call them selves, the recipes don't seem like they've changed so they're still just as good. It's a casual dark lit space which is surprising to me since they've got some big windows for natural lighting. The walls are decorated with cool art you can admire while you eat, at least I assume. Personally I've never dined in before, I always take it to go. I live bout 10 minutes away from Via's so I'm very happy when the food is still hot. Good job with keeping the food hot. Almost every time I go, I just get their spaghetti or tortellini with garlic bread. Their sauce is very flavourful and combined with the garlic bread, yuumm! The sauce and bread both have this satisfying sweetness that just makes every bite pop. Unfortunately, ounce in a while I'll get bread that was probably left over from the night before so it can be a bit tough. Overall great place for Italian with great service that is...
Read moreI went to the North Liberty location a while back and I ordered some pizza bread and some spaghetti with garlic bread. The pizza bread had sand or dirt or something gritty in it. I called the manager and the owners and got no response other than "Oh, I'll look into that, need anything else"? Obviously they don't care about their food. I have stopped eating there and would suggest that everyone not eat there if they can avoid it. It's too bad to, because I remember the one over by Coe College and it was awesome. I think if the management/owners would address some of these basic management issues with their employees they will stay in business for a long time. But getting no response from management and continued problems with their food and employee attitudes they will go out of business.
Update: This review was for Zio Johno's. I don't know what it's like after new ownership. Maybe I'll give it another try if I'm ever in North Liberty again. I knew they would go out of...
