Villa’s Patio Cedar Rapids (5200 Fountains Dr NE Suite 100, Cedar Rapids, IA 52411) ⭐☆☆☆☆ (wish I could give negative stars)
Absolutely not the move. I don’t leave reviews often, but this one practically wrote itself. May 27, 2025. Burn it into the archives.
We walk in—vibes are mid, but we’re optimistic. Our server (who also doubled as the greeter, weird flex) greets us with an energy that can only be described as passive-aggressive yoga instructor with a hangover. We ask for a moment to decide. Her response? “So you just want… water?”—dripping in sarcasm like we just insulted her ancestors. Cool. Whatever. Water it is.
Then she disappears. I don’t mean “slow service” disappears. I mean vanishes into the fifth dimension for almost 30 minutes. We literally had to go hunt her down like she was hiding in the back playing Wordle.
Oh—and for the kids? She dropped off carry-ons with no paper to color on. None. We asked her three separate times. By the third time, she hit us with, “Listen, we only have the two crayons. There’s no other colors.” Like… what? I go, “So are they supposed to color on the table? Or the sidewalk?” She stares at us, blinks like we’re gaslighting her, and goes, “Oh my God—they don’t have the kids menu. Wait a minute.” Then she looks around the table like we’re lying about needing paper. TWENTY minutes later—she finally brings the damn coloring sheets. It was comedy. But not the funny kind.
Finally takes our order like she’s speed-running her shift. Two drinks forgotten. The ones we did get? Barely filled. Like… economy class turbulence-level filled.
Food comes out—fajitas, mostly shrimp. Decent flavor. But the filler? Unholy. I’m talking pile of onions that could qualify as a side dish. Try pulling a tortilla apart? It rips like a Dollar Tree napkin. Embarrassing.
Final straw? We had to physically walk inside—to the bar—just to pay the bill. At this point, it felt less like dining and more like escaping a hostage situation with a receipt.
Villa’s Patio? More like Villa’s Patience-Test. Do better.
Sincerely, A table full of people who just wanted a normal night and left with a...
Read moreHorrible experience....we have been here b4 one other time and liked it so we figured we'd give it another go. Bad idea...we got here bout 5PM, probably only 5 other tables occupied so no reason for service to take long. We were sat at a table for 2 by the bar (the high tops) our waiter seemed very impatient...seemed irritable and very short with us like he was in a hurry...again we were 1 of 5 tables occupied and his ONLY table by the bar (at the very beginning) so not sure what the rush was about. Got our drink orders, he was again in a huge hurry to set them down and immediately hurried off without asking us if we were ready to order our food...which we were by this time cuz it took forever it seemed to get our drinks. Which our margs were extremely weak and tasted like straight up syrup...We finally got our food and were never NOT once asked how r food was or if we needed anything. I actually did want some hot sauce but whatever I made due...then we were done with our food again took forever to get a box and our ticket (my husband actually had to get up from our table and hunt our waiter down for our ticket) which we were over charged for but we didn't say anything because at this point we just wanted to leave...regretted leaving a tip...tbh
We were there almost 2 hours for 2 people...ridiculous...we won't be back. I recommend Villas Patio have a talk on customer service with Fernardo before more people leave a bad review and don't...
Read moreWe had heard great things but were very disappointed when we experienced it ourselves. The food tasted good for the most part among our group of 6, but the beans were bland, the rice was dried out, the main courses did not present well, and sloppy-looking food is not very appealing. My Chimichanga was not rolled properly or even fried. The Tortilla was open on the ends and the edges were almost burnt. My husband's Enchiladas were dry and chewy, and like my dish the toppings were a sloppy mess. The other issues involved our server. She could not remember anything we asked for after the initial order. When we needed refills she had to make 2 trips to ask the group again. It took 3 tries to get extra Napkins and 3 attempts to get to-go boxes. We found out our friend's gift cards were no good at the CR location, only in Marion. Our server was annoyed when asked to remove the extra charge for using a credit card when we paid with cash. Her poor service and attitude greatly reduced her tip, which she did not understand and brought back the exact change when she was told to keep the change, just over 10%, intentionally. We normally tip about 20%. This is not the typical review I am used to submitting, but this was also not how we expected our experience to be after hearing good things from others. We do not...
