Wendy's — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

I would give this place a -5 if I could. This is the worst fast food restaurant I've ever been to in my life. We arrived and walked inside to order and we are ignored. One employee walks right past us. Finally a young man informed us that his fellow employee was going outside to find someone to take our order. This entire time I can see the manager sitting back in her office making no effort to provide us any service. Finally a young woman comes in and takes our order. As we are ordering she asks if we want any sauce for our nuggets...they are out of barbecue sauce. Food gets ordered and I go back to use the restroom. The womens restroom is out of soap and paper towels, so I walk into the mens to look for soap and paper towels and they are also out of soap and paper towls. I am back at the front counter asking about soap and paper towels. The same young man that I had spoke with before says he will tell his manager. she sits back in her office again and after 2 minutes finally gets up and walks out of the office giving me the look of death and goes to find soap. after another 2 minutes I walk across the parking lot to Caseys to wash my hands. I come back and my family is already eating. I go to fill up my pop and they are out of half of the different kinds of pop. I then go to get napkins and again no napkins in the place, so I am back in line again asking for napkins. I finally get to the front of the line and ask for napkins. the same girl that took my order goes to get napkins but before she does she sticks her hands down her pants to adjust herself and then gets my napkins...pretty disgusting to do when you are in front of people for one and pretty nasty to hand someone napkins after your hands have been down your pants. We finish our cold meal and walk outside to a parking lot half full of employees that are standing there smoking and talking to various people in their cars. It was like something you would see in a high school parking lot expect it was adult employees. Every employee there needs to be replaced or just shut the business down. I stopped by Wendy's for lunch. I was in a bit of a hurry and wanted a double cheeseburger and small fries. As I placed my order, I said, "And that's it." The gentleman at the register attempted to talk me into getting a combo. He said things like, "Your soda would be free" and "It's cheaper". When I told him, for about the fourth time, all I wanted was the burger and fries, he said, "Okay, it's your money, I guess."

Yes, I guess it is. Had I not been in a hurry, I would have gone elsewhere. Where do they get the nerve trying to keep pushing items on a customer that the customer says, repeatedly, they don't want?

While I waited, I did some calculating. A double cheeseburger and small fries, before taxes, is $7.04 according to their menu. I double checked and that is what was on my ticket. The double cheeseburger combo is listed at $7.75 on their menu. How is that "cheaper"? How is that like "getting a soda for free?" Either the man at the register was knowingly trying to scam me or he hasn't bothered to actually do the math. I suppose it's possible that the combo comes with a medium or large fries, but I didn't want a large or medium.

Anyway. In the end, the food was pretty good for fast food. Just wish the guy at the register could take my order without...

They were extremely rude. We order very simple meals. We pulled up to the window. Obviously the girl was very upset. Slamming things around. We got our order pulled off went to a gas station right next door came back to the car. Check the food and it was wrong. Upon examining it we found all the sandwiches to be cold. Return to the restaurant spoke with the girl that first took our order and she said oh yes I'm sorry I did make a mistake. There was a young man in the food area cooking came up was so very rude and disrespectful. I explained to him she even said she messed up. He got an attitude with me talking very disrespectfully. I asked to speak to the manager it took her 10 minutes to come up front to speak to me. Explained it to her and the gentleman with the attitude. Came around the corner standing behind flipping me off. And I told her I found it very disrespectful she ignored me. And then started making our food. He. continued standing around the corner talking extremely rude and disrespectful vulgar language. Another two times he ran around different places flipping me off spoke to the manager again and she told him to stop. Continue flipping me off. .
