Back Court Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Center Township

A hidden gem outside of the Lake County Fairgrounds. The staff here are amazing. First night there Amy and Stephanie were bartending and didn't miss a beat. Even with a crowded bar not once did I ever need to wait for service. Beyond that they took time to be engaging and made me feel more than welcome.

The atmosphere is rather cozy with a hometown bar feel. They have a pool table, a half dozen dart boards, and a good amount of TVs strategically placed around the bar to offer a view from where ever you're sitting. For additional entertainment they have pull tabs for those who enjoy gambling and a Touch Tunes juke box offering the best music from every genre. Lastly they offer free Wi-Fi. This is always a big plus for me.

Food selection is limited to frozen pizza. However, this brand of pizza has to be one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend it. There is a restaurant next door but when I visited the bar it was late and they had already closed.

If you're in the area and looking for a place that's not to fancy and has some unique charm give Back Court a try. You'll be glad you did.

The bar itself has been different for me as im from Ohio and recently moved out to indiana. I didnt know you could smoke in bars out there. For me, I don't like that as I have asthma. But other than that, its a very friendly, compact bar with great bartenders with a nice pour and give great recommendations if you dont know what you want to drink. There is darts, pool, and karaoke once and awhile. The people who go are cool, calm and easy to get along with. There is no fighting. And most of all very fair prices for the amount of alcohol you receive. Masks aren't required although recommended but that makes it a great place to have a drink and play in the dart tournaments. BACK COURT BAR & GRILL of Crown Point offers a great stop for food, drink & hometown atmosphere. I stopped in last weekend to see “Chicago Bob & the Homewreckers”.. they were a great mix of “rhythm & blues” band filling the joint. The bar mixes warmth, good service with bites as well as entertainment (mostly blues) on the regular.. It is located within a strip mall across from Bulldog Park & around the corner from Stracks & Van Til food store. The parking is good & place clean with restrooms.
