Gelsosomo's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Center Township

Our server that was assigned to the group party was great, but other staff was much to be desired. After many attempts of trying to reach the person (General Manager, who is the only onewho handles the bookings) to book a party for a 1 year old birthday and very little response, the party room was booked and deposit put down.

Showed up for the party, and was shown to the public main floor with no gift table or cake table and chairs along one side of the food table so you could only use one side for guest to get their food for a party of about 30 people. Then we were told the other two small tables in that room had to be saved for the public? What? We got lots of eye rolls from staff when we voiced our displeasure of how this was set up. Especially the young hostesses.

During the course of the party, new silverware and plates were not replenished to go up for seconds and had to be consistently asked for as was having to ask for cake plates and forks. This would be standard health department protocols to have clean plates and silverware brought to a buffet style dinner.

Let's get to the drinks now. As with the party, the hosts that booked the party bought pitchers of soft drinks and a waitress was assigned for the party and serving based on what the hosts were paying for.

There were some adults who wanted to buy alcoholic beverages, so they went to the bar to purchase. They were refused service and told they had to get them from their server. Now, this probably wouldn't have been an issue except the "Party Room" people that they gave the room to had no problem getting served in the bar and going back to their area. Just because they chose to put us on the main public floor because they overbooked.

I'm extremely disappointed in how this party was handled and the disrespect we received from the hostesses in the front. I had a party there 5 years ago and everything was great. If the General Manager has personal issues going on that she can't handle this part of the business, (as we were told by the hostess) she needs to find someone to help who has professionalism in the restaurant party booking area and get her young employees attitudes checked. I called to order a medium pizza and asked if they had any "the works" or "everything" type of specialty pizzas. The woman said only a meat lovers, I was looking for more vegetable like toppings i had mentioned...she said it was individual topping pricing beyond that. I arrived five minutes early, there were two tables seated, one with two adults two kids, another with 2 adults. Waitress headed into kitchen and came back out with containers for one of tables, paused at second table, went back into kitchen. I am standing at register/entrance, approximately 4-5 min now. Phone starts ringing, children from table 2 start getting sugar boost from soda. Phone rings 12 times before second line kicks in. Waitress reappears and places pizza on table #2 as children materialize for carb intake and more soda. Waitress reengages with table 1 and returns to kitchen. Phone lines finally stop ringing, a second customer appears behind me, now at 24 minute mark. Waitress returns to kitchen and comes out carrying my pizza. I live about 1200 feet from this new restaraunt yet my pizza was no better than lukewarm by the time i got it home. Our visit today was less than desirable. The food was good as always, our waitress was attentive as well, the manager was very rude. We ordered a large and a medium pizza. When they came to the table we started eating but my husband noticed that they were the same size. He said we will ask the waitress when we pay after we see the bill as it looked like two medium pizzas. The bill came and we were charged for a large and medium. We showed the waitress that the pans were the same size. She was acting weird and said did you have more slices on one than the other. We said we didn’t count them and the pizzas were the same size so it’s the same amount. She then asked a manager and she came back and said that they put medium and large pizzas on the same trays because they do not have medium trays. We were like you need to have the manger come to our table. He came out. We explained to him, he asked if we took a picture and why didn’t we say something before eating them. He was accusing us of lying. He was very rude during our entire conversation. He did nothing for us saying that we probably got two large instead of a large and a medium. He was sarcastic and rude. Also, the restaurant floor had garbage and food all over. I had to kick straws and wrappers out from under my chair. That was when I noticed the floor and how bad it was.
