While waiting for my order, I read through some of the reviews and this place really took a beating from some of my fellow contributors. I am not going to say that they didn’t deserve some of what the critiques mentioned, like anything else take the reviews with a grain of salt. don't be in a hurry. Let me start by saying that this place has enormous potential, the location of the restaurant is ideal, very clean environment, the restaurant was spotless. The staff was very polite. Clear observations to be recognized is that this place is relatively new, 7 months in, not trying to make excuses but I believe they are still trying to find the mesh to make it work fluidly but again 7 months in your business plan should have already been implemented. I watched with utter dismay as Alex T. our server tried to handle 10 tables all on his own. The stress level on him was clearly visible. He was a cool cat while maintaining his composure and keeping a positive attitude. Alex recognized that difficulties that were present with getting our order in a timely manner and compensated us. I am not mad at the guy, I see his passion for trying to make it work. So what makes this place happen and being successful? In my observations, adequate staffing and organization will be key players. Every employee needs to have a dedicated position. Once the primary objective is under control secondary duties come into play i.e. helping your teammates. The current structure here based on my observation is barely controlled chaos and respectfully speaking doomed to fail if Someone doesn’t to steer this ship and take it to the port of success. I tried the grilled chicken rice platter and ventured into the PHO which was appealing to the eye and palette. One of the contributors stated "The spring rolls (they call them Summer Rolls here) are way expensive and smaller than I typically have in the city." This is not exactly true, Nor sure what the comparison is but the Summer rolls here in my opinion are well portioned and as for the price, you get 2 for $5. Equivocally to the size, 2 of these could be a meal by themselves. Another contributor wrote "The low stars is due to the terrible lack of service and training.(TRUTH) I have never had a correct order in this place, why do I keep coming back? Because its good food. It's however very expensive for soup. I've ordered tea with no sweetener, they put it in anyway. I always order no cilantro and I am constantly picking that nasty weed out of my food. The staff has very little knowledge of the menu or descriptions. It's just a mess when they've had plenty of time to work out the kinks... Cmon get it together, there's potential, but needs a little effort." Effort is not the issue, some much as organizational skills being applied. In closing, the rest of the reviews are consistent with what is mentioned above. It will be a hit or miss experience here until someone rights the ship. For now heed the warnings and the advice from contributors and prepare...
Read moreCame in during their soft opening. Upon walking in the place is really clean and a very comfortable atmosphere. 2 things popped out before I even got to the front wrap 1) crowd diversity in ages, very wide range of age groups were enjoying the place. Awesome buy in from the community 2) very little marketing was visible. Other than the signs by the menu I'd have no idea where I was. As we approached the wrap a young lady greeted us as she brought out a food order. Our order taker was a very young lady who explained what the drinks were etc as I asked questions. Ordered the Berry Blossom without bits. After we ordered she told us 15 min for our drink! I know it's a soft opening and everyone is learning but that seemed really long...only 2 people were ahead of us. The staff seemed a bit flustered as a few were asking how to make certain drinks still. But fully expected depending their soft opening and on the individuals length of time there. We sat down and observed the ongoings and felt it was great to see the community buy in already, extremely clean and the staff was overall doing a great job learning. Our drink was brought out to us and not just yelled out which was great as well. And that 15 min timeframe was way off. It was closer to 5! Only issue we had was my drink was brought out with bits. I verified the reciept and that said no bits as well. They are still learning clearly and finding their groove. I just prefer no bits. But will say the drink was excellent! It's has a very good taste and after taste. It was very refreshing and nice change of pace. We look forward to trying them out again and ordering a few different drinks.
This review is in no way influenced by the fact my child works there. We didnt order from him, have him make my drink or talk to him. He actually didnt notice us until I gave my name for my drink. I also dont believe in giving a false review as they wont grow. The review was based on my visit, service and cleanliness of facility, which is spelled out...
Read moreI had such a deliciously satisfying experience that I have come multiple times in one week! This was my first experience with this restaurant and I absolutely love the spicy sate pho with roast beef and brisket...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! I especially love to add the lime, basil, bean sprouts and jalapeno peppers that come on the side. The regular size is more than enough. I also love the frutti tutti jazen tea! Worth every penny . Im addicted!
UPDATE: I have visited 10 timesnow and I still love my favorites from the menu, but the preparations of my favorite spicy sate pho is not consistant. Sometimes it has tomatoes and sometimes not, and now they have added cucumbers which is not appealing to the taste of this dish. When I order take out I get cheated on the amount of basil, jalapenos and lime. This last time I order I was a little perturbed that I had ti wait, literally, 22 minutes with no other competing orders. It would have been longer, but I decided to ask about the delay and the server went to the back to check and came back with my order seconds later. I don't know how long it had been ready, but it was clear to me something in their system of completing orders needs tweaking. I still like the place, but a couple of changes would restore the star I took back from the first review.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE I can no longer spend my money at this establishment. The only consistent item I have ordered is the Frutti Tutti Tea. NEVER ORDER TO GO! I have placed orders MANY times and NEVER get what my order is supposed to be. Something is always removed from the soup. I only get a consistent experience when dining in. Sorry, I really liked this place, but I won't...
