Smalltown Coffee Company — Restaurant in Center Township

I hate that I’m writing this review, but here we go. Long story short, there is one guy there that has just never made me a consistent and good hot latte. I know one lady that works there makes great coffee. I asked another woman that took my order if I could have her make my latte and I would be willing to wait. The guy that makes my latte just terribly every time made it. I asked him if this was my latte because I asked someone else to make it, his response was extremely short and rude. He said, we don’t do that here, it’s a policy we don’t do requests like that. I’m curious, if it’s a policy, why didn’t the woman who took my order tell me that? Because people there have always honored that request.

So I call, I ask for the manager, he says there’s no manager. I ask for corporates number, he says we don’t have corporate. I ask again, I’m not understanding how there’s no manager in charge at which time he decides to field this call. I was extremely polite and just wanted to see where the convo would go. I told him I didn’t like the coffee he just made me. He blames the roast, blames his newborn baby. You know what a customer doesn’t want to hear when there’s a problem…excuses. I feel for him as a person, but as a customer, I just want the issue fixed. Never once did he offer to remake it. Bottom line, the guy just placated me so I wouldn’t push harder. It was very clear after speaking to him, he didn’t care that I didn’t like the coffee, he didn’t care about me at all. I think he was just trying to push me off.

Before I continue, to the lady with the curly hair and the two gentlemen that helped me figure out I like lattes, you are the best. You all made my days better, so I just wanted to share that.

I was really thinking this review over. It makes me sad ultimately, because I’ve made the decision I’m not going there anymore. Ya know, most of my interactions were awesome, coffee was great and pretty darn consistent. But I won’t allow someone to insult my intelligence like that. I could feel the passive aggressiveness when he put the coffee on the counter. Then says to me, it’s busy. There was no one in line, no one was even looking to order and the girl I wanted to make the coffee was talking to another employee. I smiled and walked away but realized he just fed me a line of….

Hi so I went here and I just want to state a couple things; first they guy working was extremely rude and talked down to us about the simplest thing. Made us feel very unwelcomed and down right stupid. Second: You advertise a latte but in fact it's just cold brew. A latte is espresso mixed with steamed milk, not just cold brew. It's false advertising. Third: It was expensive for how little the drinks were, I took maybe a good 6 sips before it was empty. For the price I paid I would have hoped for a bigger cup. I'd get a bigger cup for that price at Starbucks. Overall the coffee was good, which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of one, but it's not worth it to be treated like absolute garbage by the employees when you ask a simple question, and I'm not going to say what the subject was because I don't want my identity known but I will have you know that with a simple google search, the employee was wrong. But he just went out of his way to talk down to us which honestly ruined the entire experience. The "latte" was good but when I want a latte, I want something that's espresso and steamed milk, not just cold brew. And the prices need to be lowered for the amount you get. Maybe $3 instead of $5. I will point out that the woman working was really sweet and explained everything nicely. I wish I had more time with her than the male wearing a beanie that was hanging...

My boyfriend and I just visited for our first time! The barista was super friendly (I didn’t catch his name but had black glasses and blonde hair) - and all I can say is OMG IT IS AMAZING!!!!! I got a drink off the seasonal menu (something with honey and cinnamon) and was BLOWN AWAY! My boyfriend got some whole beans that we are excited to grind up! We will 10/10 be back!!!!!

My ONLY bit of recommendation that does not take away from my overall score is that the front step is VERY tall (like a double step)- luckily it was well salted but I was very nervous to go both up and down it. Again, doesn’t take away from the building, atmosphere, the friendly staff, or the...
