Review of Fratelli’s Italian Grille in Prairieville, Louisiana This quaint little Trattoria was delightful! I loved the ambiance! It was cozy and inviting. If you are looking for traditional Italian fare you will be sure not to miss this restaurant! The food was amazing. It reminded me of my travels to Italy! I had the trio special it was lasagna, manicotti, and cannelloni. It was delicious you could taste the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and the oregano and basil that tantalizes your taste buds. The portion size was perfect. The lasagna was full of meat and bursting with flavor. The manicotti had a perfect cheese blend that melted in your mouth. The tomato sauce on top was savory and the perfect complement to tie the dish together. A symphony in your mouth. They also had hot fresh bread rolls that are so delightful they are dusted in parmesan cheese and herbs. Also, it’s such an affordable experience! You will leave completely satisfied and without breaking the bank. I would rate this restaurant an A for giving me a wonderful Italian meal that reminded me of my travels abroad! Truly a delightful experience!

Tried this restaurant for the first time and was served this “focaccia” on the appetizer sampler platter which was a hotdog bun with a tomato slice and Kraft cheese. The owners should be absolutely ashamed serving this mockery of Italian food. The veal Marsala had no flavor and the mussels tasted off as well. The garlic knots were undercooked. Their food resembled something you’d make at 3 am in a microwave after a night of drinking or find untouched in the trash can of a grade school cafeteria, which is probably the skill level of who the owners are paying to make this trash if they are cheap enough to serve hotdog buns as focaccia. Blasphemous I say. The poor hostess was serving as a bartender/hostess/server as well. This is an insult to anyone who knows what actual Italian food is and a complete ripoff. I hope people catch on, obviously you aren’t doing the staff a favor by visiting - only the cheap owners profiting from selling $6 hotdog buns. I didn’t ask for a refund - I don’t want anything except for people to know how sad my experience was.

I love Italian food and this place was pretty good. I ordered the chicken parm lunch special to go and it came with so much food. My only complaint was that there was not enough red sauce on the pasta. It came with a side salad and garlic bread. I asked for Italian dressing. It was nothing like the Italian dressing I'm used to (I'm from NJ and I've visited Italy), but it was good. I wouldn't call the bread they gave me garlic bread but it's definitely the closest thing I've had to garlic bread in the south. I ordered at lunch time and it was ready within 15 minutes. When I walked in the place was packed. It looked very cozy in there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I like reviewing places like this in the hopes that people can make a more informed dining decision. I did not notice the place to be dirty as some of the bad reviews state. I also did not use the restroom. However I did notice some of the other Complaints were valid. I’m sure if I tried everything on this menu I would find at least one or two things that I may review to be between three and five stars but no one has time to eat the whole menu to find out what’s good and what is not. The food did seem to be frozen food or cans, in truth. I’ve worked in restaurants for 15 years and In kitchens for 10. I asked to send back my two sides and replace it with a large Caesar salad that would’ve been comparable to what I had, and eventually paid for but instead I was sent a side salad not nearly the equivalent of what was being taken away. I would have gladly talked to the owner who yelled from across the room “what do you want me to do!?” when I was telling the server “I didn’t realize the spinach was frozen when I ordered,” but that abrasive aggressive behavior disrespectfully from across the room was not something I wanted to continue to experience. He tried. And maybe that was him nice I imagine on other days things don’t go over too well. I’m not saying the reviews on here are lies I’m just saying be wary of 4.5 stars and proceed with caution. Many people love this food. Giant portions for sure are the truth also. But it’s like growing your palate with fine wines once you go as high as true champagne and Bordeaux, Franzia and Boons farm doesn’t quite have the same appeal. Let’s all understand that I wanted great food and I had high high hopes that the few bad reviews were just naturally...

Excellent food, excellent wine and excellent service. Govani Neza, the owner, goes above and beyond to make your dining experience amazing. He is the consummate professional, business owner, and gentleman.

Govani comes from four generations of family restaurateurs. Fratelli's actually means "brother's" in Italian.

I observed Govani in action handling everything in the restaurant. With over 32 years in the business, owning 3 restaurants in Baton Rouge with his family, he is the oldest brother, and he is a master in this industry.

Govani makes dining there a special occasion for all of his patrons.

A local Baton Rouge family was there celebrating their son’s High School Graduation. Their son will be attending LSU. He made the graduation night special by preparing a salmon dish at the last minute, complimentary champagne, and New York Style cheese cake.

Govani celebrates with you.

Fratelli’s is the first place that has felt like home to me in Baton Rouge because that is what Govani does. He makes you feel like you are dining in his home.

He made my night special by recommending the Linguine with clams in a white sauce, a wonderful red wine and sent me home with a slice of complementary New York Style Cheesecake.

He is a gracious host and he comes from a place of authentic gratitude. He is always thanking the patrons and when he does it feels like a...
