Goody's Donuts — Restaurant in Cerritos

This place was ok. Nothing about this place stands out from so many of the other Mom & Pop donut shops. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Just average. They did have a few different / unique donuts which were the overly bright strawberry glazed cake donut, the Tiger Tail, and the Thai Tea donut. The strawberry cake donut was nothing special. It was a bit disappointing in that I expected to burst with strawberry flavor considering the coloring but it wasn't. The Tiger Tail was good but it wasn't great where I would go back just to get it again. I was excited for the Thai Tea donut but it was the most disappointing. By the looks of it, it is generously filled with orange cream/custard. I dug into it and was very surprised how muted the flavor was. You could tell it was Thai tea, but barely. You know when you order a Thai tea and you finish it and all that's left is some orange coloring and a whole lot of ice? And then the ice melts and you drink it and you taste the faint remnants of the Thai tea but it's mostly water? Well that's how the Thai tea donut tasted. Like VERY watery Thai tea. I applaud their effort but it just fell flat. I would come here again but I just wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The service was good. She was polite...

Rushing to the donut shop on a lazy Saturday morning, with just 10 minutes to spare, the anticipation of a freshly baked, eggless coconut cream donut was worth the sprint.

Living here for almost a year and never realizing that such a gem existed, where all the donuts are eggless was a pleasant surprise.

Picking up a variety of flavors like classic glazed, which had the perfect balance of sweetness and a crispy exterior. The raspberry lemon frost had a tangy and sweet combination of flavors that was refreshing. The cinnamon knots had a soft and fluffy texture with a nice cinnamon kick.

The chocolate donut had a rich chocolate flavor and a moist texture. And of course, the special coconut cream donut was to die for, with a creamy coconut filling and a soft pastry crust. All in all, it was a perfect Saturday...

I've been going to Goody's donuts for many years. I tried the commercial donut shop (Dunkin Donuts). I was treated very rudely by an employee, and left wondering what just happened? I drove right to Goody's Donuts where I was treated with a warm welcome, and warm fresh donuts (you can watch them being made in the background), Goody's Donuts is the place for me, they treat their customers like family.
