My family and I were passing through Chadbourn yesterday and stopped in for lunch. The buffet looked delicious with country cooking just like my grandmother from that area used to make. Sadly, the staff at Williamson's refused to serve my daughter and me. We were hoping to get two buffet plates to go, but we were told a staff member would have to make our plates for us. That was fine until we realized no one was willing to do so until "the line died down." More and more people kept filing in and helping themselves to the buffet, yet we were not allowed to do so. My daughter and I waited twenty minutes or more, still with no help, so we got in line, too, to save a spot. When we made it to the table and alerted the staff we needed help with them making our plates, we were just stared at and ignored. Long story short, we were refused service, so we had no choice but to leave hungry and eat the few crackers we had in the car for lunch. This was very disappointing and upsetting to us, and I have never been treated this way at a restaurant in my almost 44 years of life. Their food may be delicious, but we will never know. Their service and hospitality were non-existent, so we will never go back and will also tell others to not waste their time. They obviously only care for their local, dine-in clientele, and they are inhospitable and downright rude to anyone else. The may cook like Grandma did, but nothing more. She would never turn away someone hungry from the table. The only reason I am giving them one star is because Google will not...
Read moreWorst Place Ever! We stopped at this restaurant as we were returning from the beach & as we entered we were never greeted or told to seat ourselves. My husband actually went to the counter to find someone to see how it worked. We were seated & told that the buffet was $11.99 (including drinks & dessert) so that is what we decided to do. As we went to the buffet we noticed that there was very little food to choose from & lots of empty containers. I asked the waitress if they were bringing out more chicken & she said "no, they closed at 3:00 and would be bringing out no more food". We walked into the restaurant at 2:50 PM - we should have been told. I asked why did she not tell us this & she just smiled at me. We had 2 teenagers with us & they did not eat anything but mashed potatoes & one piece of ham. The employees were rude & telling everyone that they wanted to leave on time. One waitress actually said " I can fix this" and went & locked the door. There were other customers that came in behind us that had the same complaint. My husband argued that we should not have to pay the $11.99 price since there was no food & the waitress just looked at him. He asked to speak with the owner/manager & he was told "they are at the lake". After arguing with 3 different waitresses, we still had to pay $25 for ice tea, ice water, 3 pieces of ham & mashed potatoes ------ CRAZY, we will NEVER go back to the restaurant. The management really needs to look at the actions of their employees - they ran a lot of...
Read moreI was NOT impressed with the service. We almost left. It was not busy at all. I counted 6 employees not including the guy cooking. We stood by the counter. No one acknowledged us at all. We sat down and waited and still no acknowledgement. I stepped to the counter and grabbed some menus. I asked the one young girl if we ordered at the counter. She said if they were busy they would take our order at the counter. They were not busy. There were 6 customers when we arrived. Either way, if 3 to 6 girls couldn't handle that then maybe they are at the wrong job. There was an emergency broadcast that came over the radio. We kept asking them if they heard it. One girl was busy talking about her boyfriend's birthday and what she bought him and how much she spent. I had to go get refills on our tea at the counter. One waitress that was on her break kept checking on us. That was nice of her. Please train your employees. That customer servuce gets 2 thumbs down. The food was good. I asked for my food to be fried hard. It wasn't because the breader was soft and falling off my oysters. When people pay their hard earned money, we expect the service to be as good as the food. I just wanted to enjoy some lunch with my auntie. I dont get to see her often because i live in Oklahoma. This is not the only restaurant we have visited since I've been here with...
