Confession time! I was HOOKED on this spot back in 2021-2022 when they had a location in Roswell and I was CRUSHED when shortly before I moved away, their location closed its doors. Ever since, I've been on the hunt for a replacement ramen spot, as I LOVE this ramen's combination of toppings (for context, I dislike corn and bean sprouts and always order mine without them; this franchise puts bok choy instead of those and it's perfect) and so lo and behold! I came back to east ATL for an event and while I was searching for stuff to eat, I found out this wonderful place has been resurrected in Chamblee. I absolutely pray you guys stay open and prosper, and I'll now get into why.
I haven't had Zen Ramen in about three or four years, so I was a little nervous ordering via Door Dash, but it got here and I took that first sip of broth and instantly knew I was home. You guys KILLED THAT BOWL OF KAMIKAZE RAMEN. Oh my LORDT. I was weeping with every damn bite! I'm a big, big, BIG spicy food girl, and your Kamikaze ramen is unmatched. I've been in different states with very good ramen, but no one has ever nailed this particular flavor so uniquely and so perfectly. For example, I like the Angry Zuko ramen that Lifting Noodle makes, but it's still nowhere near as good as the Kamikaze ramen. It's similar, but theirs is much more fatty and this isn't. It has such a great taste that no other shop has replicated that I've tried. What I love is it's not just burn-your-mouth hot; it's FLAVORFUL hot. The broth is SO savory even as it makes me gulp down cold soda and sweat! I am so glad that you guys opened another location because we have got to teach the Atlanta folks that restaurant-style ramen is amazing and this place in particular can make it like no other. Congrats on the reopen and I really hope you guys blow up this time. It's such quality ramen and it's not overpriced. Hot, delicious, affordable, and perfectly...
Read moreI have been coming since the first week they soft opened, and have been back (literally) every week since. The atmosphere is very chill and home-y, and they have amazingly priced food and drinks. Their fried pork gyoza? AMAZING. I am not normally a gyoza person (I prefer dumplings over gyoza and NOT gyoza that restaurants CLAIM to be dumplings), but I get AT LEAST one order of gyoza every time I’m here. It’s well-filled with a VERY high meat to veg ratio and it’s SO. CRISPY.
Their weekly drink deals are so good: On Tuesdays you can buy $1 house sake, and on Wednesdays you can order $3 Sapporo drafts. Pairing that with some tasty apps is such a delicious and affordable date night for my boyfriend and I.
The owner is extremely sweet and caring, and a lot of the personality in the décor comes from her (also one of the servers!). They’re still ironing out a couple menu items, but just ask your server for recommendations. Personally, I highly recommend the fried pork gyoza, katsu santos, red chicken, and tonkatsu kamikaze ramen.

Read moreThe food here was so delicious. The broth for the ramen is very rich, and overall all of the food is flavorful. I got to have chats with the staff there, and one man told me they try to find the best ingredients they could to satisfy customers. The people there were so nice and welcoming to customers, and made sure we felt welcome. The main server made sure to check up on me a couple of times to make sure the food was suitable for me. Also, the atmosphere is also very welcoming. It has a somewhat fun spark to it; there was a lot of cute action figures and stuff that was related to anime, mostly one piece. There is this small stage there where people can freely go to just talk and have a good time too, but no one has been there because of the lack of people! Thats why I wanted to make this review...
