I placed an order Wednesday January 26th for curbside through their online app. They say they offer curbside and they let me choose it and checkout and gave me a time to pick up my order. Upon arrival I clicked the "I'm Here" button according to the instructions in the app and waited. Now mind you I also showed up 10 minutes after the pick up time, that time was 11:37AM. So I waited, I know they just opened so expected a little wait and I was okay with it and so I waited. After waiting 20 minutes I went in at 12:07, so I was already waiting 20 minutes and it was 30 minutes past my pick up time. As I entered the store they were in fact busy, as I expected, but unlike other businesses they didn't seem short staffed. They had a line of people at the counter along with one lady standing near the online order pickup section. So as I entered, sure enough there was my order sitting in the pickup section with a tag on it that said curbside. Now I was frustrated but chocked it up to growing pains and was just going to grab my bag and go and say nothing. However when I went to make sure it was mine, the lady just standing there rudely asked what I was doing, so I replied getting what I think is my food after sitting 20 minutes waiting for it to be delivered. To which she replied "You should have just come in and got it". She was very rude and condescending in her tone, almost acting like I was an idiot for expecting service they offer. She then proceeded to argue with me and tell me she didn't have time to deal with it because they were busy, she I found out was also the manager. So they did not have time to deal with taking care of online curbside orders it appears. Even though they had it turned on and offered. Even though they didn't take the effort to inform me this service was not available or turn it off in the app. Instead they choose to argue with and treat me like an idiot because they were to busy. So this is my first and last time coming to this store, I understand they are probably over worked but I paid for a service they claim to offer and I even gave them a $3 tip for offering that service. And in the end, I'd have been fine going in to get my food if they had just not offered the service. So don't expect good service if you use the app, they only really care about walk in customers it would seem and they do not offer curbside even though the app says they do.
As for the quality of the food, they do have good sandwiches but it's nothing amazing. I'd say meat quality is a bit better than Jimmy Johns and their bread reminds me of a higher quality Subway but it's nothing amazing. Definitely not worth coming back if staff is going to be so rude, Jimmy Johns even when busy has always treated...
Read moreI used to go here a lot but I stopped going very often because the attitudes of every worker I’ve ever seen at this Jersey Mikes location is the attitude of “customers are a problem; we are annoyed by customers; we don’t want to be here at work.” Out of all the restaurants I’ve been to in Champaign Urbana and surrounding areas; the attitudes, and in turn the overall atmosphere, of this restaurant, are one of the most unpleasant. From the moment I enter the door, I can sense the negative energy and negative attitudes. We all have problems in life, but we need to try to keep those problems somewhat separate from the workplace, especially if working on a customer service/public facing, and food service oriented job. Working in a restaurant takes a lot of passion, energy, and dedication; and the attitudes given to customers can really turn them away because they have a lot of other options to go to. The only reason I go here anymore is if I have a free reward to redeem, but once went to the Rantoul location to avoid the Champaign Jersey Mikes because of the attitudes, and several times I have gone in the Chicago suburbs to use points up there at Jersey Mikes locations to avoid the Champaign location as well. Also, I am vegetarian, and the things I’ve seen in the sandwich line at this Jersey Mikes are some of the least attentive to food borne pathogen safety techniques I’ve ever seen. The cheese/meat cutter should be cleaned if someone is getting a veggie sandwich, or signs should be up if there is going to be unavoidable possible cross contamination, to allow customers to safely make...
Read moreI had never had Jersey Mike's. And OMG did it change my sandwich world. We've had it a dozen times since first trying it 2 months ago if that tells you anything. Everyone in the house LOVES it. It's an amazing cross between Subway and Jimmy John's. I'll never have Subway again.
The service is great. The employees are always super nice, and I get the genuine feeling that they like their job and are ACTUALLY happy to help.
I do wish the restaurant itself was bigger. There isn't a lot of seating, and the line of people waiting to order ends up winding through the tables. So you end up with several people standing RIGHT next to your table while your trying to eat. It's weird and awkward. The parking lot is a huge pain. It's super small, one way, with tight spaces and people are idiots so I dread the parking. The store is usually pretty clean. The couple times I saw it slightly messy, was peak lunch with a dozen people in line and every seat was full. So no judgement there.
Overall 5 stars though. Fresh food and good service. Can't ask for much...
