I will never be booking a party at this venue again. I emailed the manager to make arrangements for my daughter's party FOUR months ahead of time. We booked for Saturday at 3pm. The week of her party I emailed the manager to get the total/final price for the children's party package. I was quote a FOUR days before the party. Meaning the manager knew how many children to expect. When my party arrived my brother was told by the wait staff that there was no party package for the children: aka no pizza, no drinks, no tokens for games. Wanting to make sure that the kids had pizza as my family had planned my brother ordered pizza from the menu. At that time the staff had not checked with management about whether our group had a party package or not. They went ahead and let him order from the menu. Furthermore, they informed him that there was a party coming in at 5pm so we would need to be done by then. When I talked to the MANAGER (Chris Stevens) myself he said that all I had managed to previously with the dozen or so emails we'd exchanged was JUST RESERVE THE SPACE. Not only did they not apologize for their mistake, but they also did NOTHING to make it right. Addtionally, when we were done with the party they made sure to point out that they charged us for GRATUITY. Why on earth they feel they earned gratuity I don't know. The wait staff did not check to see if we had a party package. They just continued to claim that we didn't when we did. They brought out pizza, we served it to ourselves, and we poured our own drinks. And when it was time for us to leave the space we had they did not offer to give the children tokens, which had been included in the original party package. I completely understand that mistakes happen. But to not acknowledge the mistake and not try to make it right is unacceptable. The last venue I used for her parties I gave business to every year for her birthday and then for other parties as well. I would have done the same with Jupiter's II, and had future birthday parties there,...
Read moreI had a reservation for myself and my toddler son. It was a fundraiser night for his school. It took them 20 minutes to assist us with seating. No matter how many time I stated why we were dining so that the school could get fundraising proceeds, they seemed to not know anything about it. I could not get anyone to help. I had never been there before now. There were three waiters, waiting on tables but in no set arrangement. A nice man came from the bar and took and brought our drink orders. I ordered a cheese thin crust pizza. Fifty-four minutes passed and we still did not get our food. I placed our order by flagging a waiter down shortly a few minutes after we were seated. Others around us who were seated well after we were got theirs. No ne even checked on us. I flagged the waitress down who took our order. She took another ten minutes to return to the table to tell us that "for some reason" it was not put in"..... I told her that I could not sit there any longer. It was well past our dinner time; we were hungry. My toddler was excited about the pizza we thought we were getting. I asked for the bill for our drinks and the waitress smiled and told me "no worries". I had read quite a few bad reviews for this place prior to coming. But I decided to ignore them and go ahead and have a positive dining experience. It was horrible being there for an hour and a half and never even being able to eat.... They get...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a great family-friendly place to eat that serves delicious food, you will not be disappointed with Jupiter’s at the Crossing! I recently visited Jupiter’s with my family – my husband and myself, my teenage daughter, my toddler son, and my mom – and we loved it! We’re not from the Champaign area, so I was a little apprehensive about choosing a yummy spot to eat, but I stumbled on Jupiter’s and I’m so glad we did.
The Good: Our initial thought when we walked into Jupiter’s was WOW…really! We were so impressed with the modern feel and large space – lots of dining tables, video games, pool tables, and TV’s…lots and lots of TV’s! Gotta watch those Illini games somewhere, right?
So the space was great, and I was hoping that the food would live up to the fantastic venue. And I can tell you with absolute certainty that it does! We ordered chicken wings as an appetizer – SO GOOD, a specialty Gyro Pizza – unique and delicious, my toddler had a personal cheese pizza, and I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Grinder – a favorite of mine. All solid choices.
The Bad: We found nothing to be lacking at Jupiter’s.
Overall: The venue is spacious, the food is great, the restrooms were clean, and there were video games the kids could play while we waited. An all-around fantastic choice for a...
