Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Chandler

While visiting Arizona recently we ordered food at this particular Jack in the Box (first time at this location) drive thru and after we placed our order we drove up to the window to pay for and get our food. As soon as we pulled up “Fletcher” asked us a favor. Fletcher said, “Can you back up to reset the timer?” Sure I said. We backed up and reset the drive thru timer for Fletcher. It’s always safer to cooperate when someone is making your food. As we waited for our food to be prepared, Fletcher was by the food counter and started grabbing and eating Jack in the Box food with his bare hands. I was taken aback and was tempted to cancel my order since it was unsanitary and possibly a health code violation. I ordered a salad, so I figured my food was in a container and protected from Fletchers dirty hands (hand to mouth and touching money from customers). After leaving, I left a comment at the phone number listed on the drive thru window. I regret that decision because of what happened next. Several days later I get a call from a male with an accent. He identified himself as a manager and asked to know what happened. I provided all the details. After questioning me and minimizing Fletchers behavior he indicated he would have the district manger contact me. Shortly after(within 5 minutes) a second person “Frank” called and asked to know what happened. I asked Frank if he had someone call me moments ago or if he was aware anyone else that was supposed to call me. Frank said he had no idea and did not know who called me moments before he called (even though the person that just called before him said he would have Frank call me). The whole experience was unusual and the fact that I really wasn’t aware of who I was speaking with I ended the call. The whole Jack in the Box experience was subpar and this location, and apparently the district manager, manager, and employees may need some additional H&S and customer...

Food was fine the service was not what I would expect. It all started with the Jack App not working. The employee behind the speaker offered no assistance just " we dont have it". I asked well this has never happened what do we do? I verified right location and gave the order number it was for drive thru. That employee then snottily said "drive around i will get the manager". In the mean time i drive around and it took a minute for the manager to come to the window. An employee inside pointed out to me with a contemptuous attitude. He comes to the window was friendly to me that was fine.. He wanted to see my phone and looked at it said ok we'll get it ready for you. The patron behind me honked her horn. ?? Not my fault he took his time coming to the window.. heres where it gets weird... suddenly the lady behind me gets out of her vehicle and begins a verbal assault on me. Name calling and ridiculousness. The manager did not tell the abusive patron to stop or go back to her car. He actually gave her the food she ordered and never tried to deescalate the situation at all. Another employee came out and threatened to call the police on me because I wasn't leaving the drive thru. I admit it was passive aggressive to sit there longer just to piss her off more..but she deserved that at minimum. I never hurled insults back at her. I tried to keep my cool.

I cannot believe that the restaurant did nothing to deescalate this event and threatened police action against the one assaulted. The actions of these employees has been the catalyst to stop me from ever going back.

So for all the people reading this review.. people are getting crazy out there... always be aware of your surroundings. This happened at approx 1030 AM on...

Absolutely lazy people work here. The guy up front today spent like 5 mins it seemed like , or longer ,telling another worker how to seal a bag and about sauce when he was told make my ice coffee I waited forever for, and to him it’s like it went one ear out the other. I left because would be late otherwise. This short girl with black hair has a bad attitude and sits around , talks,rude to customers, or slamming doors yelling ,and is lazy. Go to other fast food places you don’t see people chatting sluggishly moving about not working. Hires the most inept people ever. Terrible place for the price of food. More of a friend hang out zone for the workers than a business. There is nothing fast about this place! Also 98% of time some members of the staff complain how short handed they are. You will see some people there, then not for awhile, then they comeback again, like they just rehire the same bad people over and over no wonder service is so bad. I know people that work hard that want jobs so there’s no excuse. Hire better people. Only few decent people there you can tell actually work hard. This place is consistently just bad. After multiple bad experiences here, bad conditions of building ac not working multiple times, roof issues in lobby multiple times there, today a 16 plus min iced coffee never received because had to...
