I placed an order through Grubhub at 5:51 p.m., with an estimated delivery time of 6:24 p.m. Unfortunately, the delivery kept getting delayed… first to 7:07–7:24, and then again all the way to 7:51. By that point, it was over an hour past the original delivery time, and I was beyond frustrated.
I called the restaurant to check if there was an issue, and that’s when I had the pleasure of speaking with Jinx. She was incredibly kind and apologetic, immediately checked on my order, and let me know it had been ready and waiting. She said she’d see what she could do to get it out quickly and even tried tracking the driver, letting me know they were supposedly nearby.
A few minutes later, Jinx went above and beyond, she actually called me back to follow up after noticing the driver still hadn’t moved. She suggested I cancel through Grubhub and come pick it up myself since it didn’t look like the driver was going to make it. I was on the phone with Grubhub at the time (which was a whole different headache), and while they made things difficult, Jinx’s effort and empathy made all the difference.
I ended up driving down to Ramen Hood, and she greeted me warmly, let me vent about the Grubhub situation, and even replaced the broth and eggs so my food would be fresh and hot. That level of care is rare these days… she didn’t have to do any of that, but she genuinely cared about my experience.
The food, as always, was absolutely amazing consistent, flavorful, and worth every bite. But this time, the real highlight was the customer service. Jinx truly went above and beyond and deserves recognition (and honestly, a raise).
Highly recommend Ramen Hood…. not only for their delicious food, but for their exceptional staff who genuinely care about...
Read moreFirst, and likely last time here. Too bad as it's sooo close to home. The touch screen menu has no description of the choices. I'd left my phone at home, so my son was using Google to find out what the choices were. Would also have been helpful to have someone walk through the process of choosing a soup the first time. Yes, we did figure it out, but in fits and starts. For example, I had finished the options for my soup and was watching hubby. Wait! I didn't know the list of add-ins could be scrolled down for more options!! And why is the seasoned egg on there at the top and at the bottom? Was one different from the other? Finally decided it was just duplicated. $3.50 seems a bit steep when already spending $17 for broth soup (with 1 egg). Now the food. Son and I got the Teriyaki Chicken. In a word, inedible, though my son gave mine and his a valiant effort. It was tough. Not sure if it had been left in a oil fryer too long or if it was dried out. We all got a seasoned egg. The yolk was cold and was a strange gel-like consistency. Hubby ordered his with tofu and was happy with that. We each had a different broth. According to Google, son said mine was chicken. It could have been hotter and was Abita too salty, but the noodles and other add-ins were fine. Hubby and son both liked their soups other than the chicken and the egg were both hard passes. Overall, there are much better restaurants for less than that nearby and several others in the Ranch 99 Market and surrounding yet to try. Likely won't...
Read moreAbsolute ridiculous experience today at this location. We have been here before and this experience was TRASH. It was Father's Day and not busy at all. We came in approximately 6:25 and there were two individuals before us that ordered. After we ordered and were settled down a group of three came in. We saw the first two ahead of us get their meals, which they originally tried to give us and we politely said those were not ours and they gave them to the correct customer. Then they brought out the food for the three that arrived after us. We gave them some grace and waited about 5 min just in case ours was just taking a little longer for some reason and in this time we observed an employee go outside 3 times to their car. It's 7pm at this point and my husband went up to ask them about our food. No one came out but he fortunately caught the employee coming back in for the third time and asked about our food. The guy asked for his name and he found our order and basically they completely forgot about us. Not sure how in this day and age you forget a customer when the place is almost dead. My husband asked for a refund and we left. They never apologized, did not offer to compensate in any way, and there were two other employees there as well so it's not like they were understaffed. It's a shame we had such horrible service. However, if you go to the bbq chicken in the same plaza you'll be treated amazingly. Can't state enough how...
