I visited last night and was so disappointed. My first impression was how dirty the front door was. Walked in and was seated immediately. Ordered the Las Vegas Roll and the Jackpot Roll and the cream cheese wontons. The cream cheese wontons were very basic and very small with barely any cream cheese. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like it came from the most generic store bought jar ever. The sushi rolls were 95% rice and the rice was overcooked and bland. The piece of salmon that was in each piece was smaller than my pinky nail. The salmon and tuna tasted and looked like the lowest quality of fish I ever tasted. I ate 2 pieces of each roll and 1 wonton and paid my bill and left. I told my waitress how disappointed I was and even showed her how small the salmon was in the roll and she just said ooh sorry that's how it is. I can't believe this place is even in business if this is how they operate. I walked out hungry, disappointed, and felt like I wasted my money. My bill was 32.00 and again no action was taken by the restaraunt to make anything right. She never offered to get new rolls made or refund anything. I will NEVER return. I do not leave reviews on things but I was so DISAPPOINTED that I felt I needed to leave...
Read moreGood sushi. Poor service (for takeout, at least). I ordered the sashimi deluxe, which is supposed to come with rice. They forgot the rice, but I didn’t find out until I got home. I called, and the woman on the phone offered to give me free rice next time. I responded that I should get free rice anyway if I order the same thing again. She spoke to a manager who offered to give me a $3 discount on my next order. When I asked how to redeem the discount, she said that I should save the receipt. Based on that, I told her that I would not order from them again. She didn’t seem too concerned. I expected better service since I prepaid tip and the total cost for dinner for two was almost $80.
Also, the hostess was standing right at the door when I walked in, and I had to tell her my name and take the bags directly from her. Not a huge deal since she was wearing a mask, but it was surprising since contactless pickup was featured very prominently on the website.
Update - the manager called and left a message to offer free sashimi on my next order. Honestly, I just wanted some rice or a few dollars off, but I appreciated...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Shinme Sushi that was nothing short of a nightmare. As a man of color, I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and discriminated against from the moment I walked in.
The service was slow and inattentive, with my server barely acknowledging my presence. I felt as though I was being treated differently from other customers, and it was a deeply unpleasant experience.
The food was subpar and overpriced, with limited options available for people with dietary restrictions like mine. I was also given incorrect information about menu items, which made it difficult to make an informed decision about what to order.
Throughout the meal, I was constantly subjected to hostile and unwelcoming glances from staff. It was a clear display of prejudice and discrimination, and it left me feeling embarrassed and humiliated.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The racist treatment and discrimination I experienced was unacceptable and has left a lasting impact on me. This kind of behavior has no place in our society, and it's important that it is called out...
