@ St Amand Restaurant in Chandler. Best food and service I’ve ever had!! #fyp @zackoentertainment #foodie #chandleraz

First and foremost, this review is not intended to bash this establishment. I would like to start with the positives. The decor of this location is nice, the live music was enjoyable, and the location was easy to find. As a former owner of three fine dining restaurant in the SF Bay Area, this is a message to the owner. Good surviving restaurants are made of two elements: good quality food and good service. Before opening hour, my goal as a former owner was to set clear expectations with all my employees. My head chef went over the menu with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure they were aware of items that were available, and items that were not available that day. In addition, a servers number one priority is overseeing a table. Water is to be received within the first 2 minutes of the party being seated along a warm greeting presenting a drink menu. Any specialty drinks are to be presented at this time or announcing head server by the bus staff by serving the water. We arrived and we were served water, our table was a bit wobbly, so we asked to be moved. The busser was super kind and attentive. We moved to another comfortable booth by the corner. Our server name was Gabriella P. She appeared to be friendly, and attentive. We first proceeded to place our drink order. She recommended the cucumber martini which was fantastic. She returned with our drinks shortly after, and suggested a few appetizers. We ordered the fried Raviolis. They were okay, but we won’t review on that as my husband is originally from St. Louis, so fried raviolis are pretty different. She came back about 15 min to ask for our entree order. We waited for about 57 minutes, then Gabrielle our waitress, returned to let us know she didn’t have short rib for the tacos. Almost an hour from the time we placed the order. Waiting for an hour to be told an item is not available and the status your food is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Kitchen staff, serving staff and management staff should know from the moment of opening the door what’s available and not available from a menu. My husband got his rib eye exactly an hour and 12 minutes later. The manager came apologizing that he bought us the first round as a kind gesture. This was our first and last experience at this place. The cut of meat for the rib eye was mediocre. Ryan from the staff came with the food and tried to remedy the huge mistake by having small talk and apologizing. We will not come back, and will not recommend St Amand kitchen to anyone. There is no excuse for such an unacceptable service. We decided to leave a tip of of being courteous, but nobody at that restaurant takes pride of the restaurant industry or service at all. Management save your response trying to apologize for such an oversight. Owner: train your management better, after all this is a reflection of management and lack of training. Hold meetings daily, and supervise your own restaurant more often. You will be next closing this location just as many ones in the past that were here. Before you bankrupt, pay more attention to your business. Reviews like this make you or break you.

Wow, what can I say? This place is top notch! We got there right before happy hour ended and ordered the well drinks. I got a Manhattan and the wife got a Skinny Margarita. Both were very good despite using the bottom-shelf liquor. For starters, we had the crab cakes. Crispy, but not over-done. Soft, but not mushy on the inside. Very well flavored. For dinner, I got the fish and chips and wife got the seared salmon. Both tasted very good. My only criticism with the fish and chips was that it was served with a very small portion of the coleslaw. Almost like a dip portion instead of a side... Still, very good meal. For desert, we had a special (seasonal?) cheesecake. Wow! It was cheesecake with an orange/tangerine type marmalade on top. Sweet, subtle and NOT tart. Never had anything like that and it was incredible. Knocked off one star on the atmosphere only because it was pretty loud. It was "ok", but hard to have a conversation... At the same time, the music was live, so that was good. So, kinda depends was you're looking for. Regardless, I'd go back in heartbeat. Oh yeah, the service was great... we changed our appetizer order and the server was VERY accommodating. Also, she never pressured us to leave. Just let us take our time and enjoy the evening. Truely a wonderful place.

It was great until it wasn't. Came across them a few months ago. 1st time dining in was totally they impressed us so much that we returned next night when learning of crepe dinner special. Service and food quality was totally top notch that night so why night spend your money there again. Well food was definitely amazing next night but noticed started clearing out early so staff leaving got handed off to someone else to finish up. Then it totally went downhill. Server barely checked on us had to flag someone down if wanted anything including refill of water glass. Check brought out before asking if anyone wanted dessert. Talked to upper management/owner so I'm told they both apologized. Tried to make right. Tonight husband wanted to celebrate my birthday with a nice dinner thought why not give them one more chance. Looked at online menu saw Bolagnese with White Cheddar Polenta yummy 😋. Arrived only to find replaced with Pasta on menu. Really biggest pet peeve not keeping online menu up to date. 😒 Ordered evening special short rib ragu with bucatini and garlic bread. Big Big failure 1st place in a very long time had to use knife to cut short rib too tough and fatty. Pasta completely overdone mushy and cold only taste was tomato. Garlic Bread was toast butter and garlic on it. No fresh parmesan cheese bottle grated. This place is a cross between a local sports bar trying to be upscale Italian that caters to hotel next door where most people won't return on a regular basis including servers. Again tonight waitress brings check without asking about dessert even though reservations said birthday celebration. That point I was completely done. Waitress who brought wine (oh you don't need to taste do you I've served it too you before). Main dinner waitress (no hurry when ever you're ready laying check down before asking about dessert) wow y'all throw that much dessert away since Noone offers it nor reads reservation details pointing out celebrations. Yes substitute Scallop dinner was amazing however y'all showing up at table with cake candle etc. after I called you out nope not happening. Just because you're restaurant starts to empty out early doesn't mean you're staff should neglect patrons. Great Seabass though but ordered light spice risotto and still a bit spicy glad got mango...

I am sorry to say that I had a pretty disappointing experience here a few nights ago. We had not been back since the remodel, and I took a friend to dinner there for some wine and a nice dinner. We were seated quickly, which was nice for a Friday night. We were brought water right away, but it took several minutes for our server to come to our table. We quickly ordered drinks and an appetizer and planned to order our meals once the appetizer was delivered. My friend and I started chatting and realized quite a bit of time had passed. I looked at my watch and saw that it had been 45 minutes since we'd ordered an artichoke dip. We called our server over and she said she would go check. She came back a few minutes later and said they were grilling our bread, and it would be right out. I'm pretty sure she forgot to put the order in the first place, but at least it was on its way then. The dip came out and the bread was burned. I don't mean slightly darker than one would hope, I mean recently on fire. It smelled like campfire. We asked to have new bread, which she accommodated, but she left the smelly charred bread on the table until we had to ask for it to be removed. The dip was not good. Not at all. There were puddles of oil. The ingredients were not chopped. As a matter of fact, there were some pieces that I had to put on my plate and cut before I could put them on the bread to eat. We finally had the chance to order our meals. They came out quickly. There were a few other hiccups but nothing major enough to mention. I just get the sense that our server was extremely inexperienced. She did not anticipate refills. We had to find her and ask her every time we needed more tea or water. None of the servers wear uniforms or even a uniform color (all black or an apron). When she came to the table the first time, I wasn't sure if she worked there or was a friend of my guest's just saying hello. In a nutshell, the new decor and menu gives the impression of an upscale restaurant, but it was not an...
