Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Chandler

Atmosphere: Pretty cool atmosphere here, though the music was less than pleasant (Think old Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber songs), but otherwise very clean and I could probably live on their incredibly soft leather couches.

Customer Service: Mmm...here's where it gets tricky. The guy who took my order used to work at Dutch Bros, so he was amazingly gracious and really friendly. One of the baristas noticed I was sitting in the leather chairs working when he finished my drink so he actually walked all the way out from the bar area to bring me my drink instead of making me get up. However, my mom had a different experience. She needed half & half in her coffee so she asked one of the girl baristas to refill it. The girl proceeded to add new cream to the canister (a big health & safety no-no) and then, when the cream dripped from the side of the canister, wiped it off with her bare fingers! (NOOOOO!)

Needless to say, my mom didn't really use any cream. She also said her shots were very "bleh".

Food: Not so good. I bought a Soy Caramel Truffle, thinking "caramel and chocolate, how can you go wrong?" It was very very wrong. Taste-bud-killing sweet and I couldn't even taste any coffee in it! I ordered a different drink instead. Thinking a chai was an easy route to go down. Not really any different. Super super sweet. I had a force myself to drink a few sips of it so I could go home, add shots and remake it. Super disappointing.

Overall: Yeah I'm probably not ever going to come back here unless it's for those leather couches and someone else is paying...

The interior is nice, the customer service was very good. I had a to go order of a hot latte, blueberry scone and blueberry muffin. The blueberry muffin was for me, latte and scone for another person. The latte was good and scone was good per the person that consumed the drink and scone. For me, the blueberry muffin had two blueberries in the muffin, most of it was the muffin breading. It was also very small, cupcake size,not a blueberry muffin that I expected for the price, see picture. I believe the coffee bar gets the pastries from another business, but it was the most disappointing blueberry muffin I have ever purchased for price, taste, quality. I would give one star for the muffin I had, but the other person was ok with the latte and scone. The customer service was very good. So avoid the blueberry muffin, I couldn't even finish eating it, not sure about other products. You can't see the products in a display case. The display case is empty with some photos. Overall for $20, a medium latte, scone and blueberry muffin was too much.

On second and third visit on consecutive days I returned for a medium hot latte with oat milk and a blueberry scone. Not for me, but the person I was picking the items up for was happy. Had me return two consecutive days for...

I've been to this location many times. The coffee is better than anything in the area. Up until yesterday, I've had good experiences. I ordered a plain, iced coffee. They refused to make it. I asked why and they said the ice waters it down (duh) and that it would taste "gross" so they only serve it hot. I explained that I wanted to start drinking it right away (I had a long drive to work ahead of me) and would appreciate at least a few ice cubes dropped in to cool it down faster. They agreed to do that. Of course, when they handed me my pipping hot coffee there was no ice at all. I agree with most reviews that the baristas smile and ask you about your day, but great customer service is also about accommodating to customers' requests. These nothing like shelling out your hard earned money and being refused what you asked for to start the day off on...
