“Kicked Out of Starbucks for Not Spending Fast Enough”
I’ve been a loyal Starbucks customer for over 20 years. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on drinks, food, and gift cards. I went to one this morning for breakfast. Today, I walked into a location just to breathe, reset, and maybe order something. I stood in line, asked a polite question about their chai products (which was met with a bratty tone), and then nearly ordered a latte, but changed my mind and asked for an iced water instead. (There was a customer behind me in a rush)
That’s when I was told I had to buy something or I couldn’t stay in the building.
Let me say that again: I was told I wasn’t allowed to be inside unless I purchased something immediately. Not loitering, not taking up a table all day. Just being in the building, politely, quietly, for three minutes while making a decision.
According to the barista, this was a new CEO policy. If that’s true, junk punch should be in your future! No apologies for this! If that’s how your staff are interpreting your policies, even worse.
Starbucks used to be a “third place.” Now, it’s turning into a corporate cash grab where loyal customers are treated like freeloaders if they hesitate before tapping their card.
I’ve supported Starbucks through price hikes, mobile order disasters, tween staff running stores, and watered-down drinks, but this? This was gross. If the CEO really thinks this is the kind of experience that builds a name and legacy, he’s right! It sure does creep! And I’m hopeful the stock goes up...
Read moreI wasn’t going to give a bad review, but this is my second day in a row having issues with them. This isn’t my first time having issues with this location. Yesterday, I ordered my drink and food online and went to pick it up in the drive-thru, and they gave my food away to somebody else. Not even a sorry, all they had to say was “maybe you could come back tomorrow, and we might have it.” Jeez, thanks. Today, I went in, bought a drink and food item, I did some work for 2 hours, my drink was already finished, so the cup was in the garbage. The employee came up to me and told me I had to buy something if I wanted to sit here. Clearly, she couldn’t see my wrapper on the table. Plus, they have the time wrong in the receipt, a whole hour. I come here 3 times a week (buy something each time) to get some work done but lately I have hated the service, Dunkin’...
Read moreThis Starbuck's does their best to get it right. Their Chai Lattes and Matchas taste better than any Starbucks I've been to within 30 miles of Channahon. You can tell their Baristas pay attention to detail and even when they make a mistake which is bound to happen given the amount of orders and customized drinks thst are made, they are more than willing to make it right. I can't ask for more than that. To top it off, some of the staff have some great personalities and are just so down to earth and easy to converse with. Shout out to Lilly making the hot drinks so quick and yummy, Hannah who makes the second best Matcha and Jamie who is just so down to earth that you have to smile when you see her. Keep up...
