La Jenelle Natural Cafe — Restaurant in Channel Islands Beach

I wish I had a place near my home like La Jenelle Natural Cafe. I was only staying locally for the weekend, but I ate here two days because it was so good. The ingredients are fresh, the flavor combinations of the dishes are exceptional. Even my friend who does not eat plant based ate the burger and could not stop talking about how good it was. I also have a gluten and cashew food allergy and La Janelle Natural Cafe was able to accommodate my needs! Xochi, the owner, was so kind, pleasant to talk to and helpful. She is very passionate about bringing great tasting, healthy food to the world, and it definitely shows in her menu. Even the cutlery and food containers were plant based and biodegradable in 90 days. There should be more places like La Jenelle Natural Cafe in this world!! We loved it so much, all we have is what we bought to go! We ordered the pork jackfruit in a pretzel bun with caramelized onions. Delicious! Also the Mexicali bowl with avocdo sauce was tasty, but the Shoreline burrito was filling but not as flavorful...maybe fewer beans and more sauce? La Jenelle is amazing!! I loved the Mexicali Bowl, the flavors and textures were absolutely perfect. I could eat it every day. More than that, Sochi went absolutely above and beyond to take care of me and my partner, who has a nut allergy. We were happy to just get something for me and go elsewhere to pick up his lunch (he’s an omnivore), but Sochi made him a special dish and went over each ingredient to make sure he felt confident that nothing had cross-contamination from the cashew products they have in their kitchen.
