Stopped in this charming and cozy coffee shop on this balmy Friday evening of September 26, 2025. I was in desperate need of a good, strong coffee drink of some kind. The ambiance in this place gives you and extremely comfortable and welcoming feeling as soon as you enter. The pretty and kind barista named, Breezy, was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the drinks available. I asked for some suggestions, as i was feeling saucy (lol) and wanted to try something new. She said her favorite was a Spanish Latte. Her description of this drink sounded appealing, so i ordered a large. As she indicated, it was definitely an excellent drink, chock full of caffeine and tastiness. It has a strong, yet smooth coffee flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. Not too much, but enough to curb some of the coffee's bitterness, but not so much that the taste of their quality coffee was lost. I plan to return and try other items. Breezy, the barista, was kind, a good conversationalist, and knowledgeable, all while steadily working and never keeping a customer waiting long. I highly recommend this coffee shop. Not only is it a small, locally owned business, but their coffee, food, and employees are beyond exceptional. If you are ever in charming, historic, downtown Charlestown, WV, please stop in and try them out. I do not typically write long winded, mini-novel type reviews, but this place struck something in me i had not felt in a really long time. A sincerely great coffee shop with quality on all levels, yet not pretentious or intimidating. In fact, this place is anything but intimidating or pretentious. It is welcoming and warm. Hope this helps and hope you will come experience what i did. Thank you, Breezy for a great cup of coffee and a quick, yet good...

Love this place! It’s my go-to for when I need to study and home is too distracting. I feel like there are so many coffee shops popping up, the way microbreweries used to, like people are doing it because it’s the cool thing to do but they don’t actually know how to make good coffee. I’ve been to one too many of them where the coffee just tastes like slightly brown water with no real flavor.

But the owner, Muhammad, (forgive me if I’ve spelled it wrong, I looked up ways to spell it and this was the most common) clearly knows what he’s doing. The coffee is strong with an excellent flavor. The pastries are also delicious. Muhammad is professional but casual and friendly enough to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Some reviews have said he’s too quiet or mumbling and unhelpful. He is quiet, and it probably wouldn’t hurt for him to speak up a little bit, but I can still hear him when he speaks and he is plenty friendly, smiling and warmly greeting everyone that comes in; he simply has a quiet nature but he is not aloof or unhelpful. His unique latte flavors are delicious, definitely try the spanish latte and the pistachio cream latte, they do not disappoint. My go to is the pour over, so good! I was there in the evening and wanted to get some dinner and he was completely fine with me doordashing something and eating it there, which was so accommodating.

I absolutely recommend you stop by and if you live here, making it your regular...

With a simple but varied menu, La Gazelle offers not only coffee, teas, and baked goods, but also a laid-back environment. Inside, a small library of books are available to peruse and music options to play to establish the perfect mood for visitors to enjoy. At the front window, a small sit-down counterspace to accommodate working individuals is also set-up, alongside and a space fot reading or working in the opposite corner, complete with a large, comfortable chair. Open later than most coffee shops into the late evening, La Gazelle is perfect when wanting to unwind after a stressful day or to connect with the community during regular events like...

This is my favorite cafe to hang out, knit something, and people watch with a latte. I make my own espresso drinks at home, and in my non expert opinion, they make pretty good espresso drinks. I usually get a small plain latte, but I have also had their cortado, and the Spanish latte (espresso+steamed milk+sweetened condensed milk) was a nice sweet option. Their baked goods are lovely also. I love a good chocolate croissant, even if it is risky to eat when knitting. They have a couple of soft chairs at the front of the shop that are nice to sit in if you can get them, and there's a number of books available to read as well.
