I have absolutely, never in my life dealt with such a crazy process. I filled out all the application, started my financial aid, was even informed from fafsa that the funds were released, uploaded my drivers license, proof of residency, and my had my official GED transcripts sent from the granting institution just to be argued with and told that those weren’t the official documents. I then, was told that they did have the correct GED transcripts and that for whatever reason they were saying that my date of birth was incorrect in their system. HOW? I’ve given you all my information, sent my FAFSA information, and you have to go through so much identity verification for FAFSA alone it’s crazy. And then they ask me on a Friday to send them my birth certificate, they’re closed on the weekend, even though the document was due on the 30th? A Saturday and the class was supposed to start today (Labor Day) and they’re also closed. I was then sent an email telling me that I’ve been dismissed from their application process and I am not welcome to apply again all while literally spending days crying over this because I was so excited to go back to school. No one could call me, no one could provide me a phone number. I was told that the document people had to deal with it and was provided an email address. Tried to report it after being transferred multiple time and the connected only to be put on hold and hung up on. I completed more than half of my degree here but will take the loss and not finish here. Do not waste your time with an unsupportive staff and departments. The disability department can’t do anything but provide info and ask professors to comply which most will then make your life hell if they are in the wrong. Retaliation at its best. If you are a young military member, or anyone for that matter, do not fall into the traps and go find a more supportive institution and have to redirect your whole education plan...
