I don’t understand some of these complaints because I never had problem with the University and I have been enrolled in the University longer than they have—over 2 years. I’m set to graduate next year so I’m currently enrolled. I am also an Army veteran and I never had a problem showing a letter eligibility for VA Educational Benefits ( which YOU must do on your own no matter what school you attend) like the other person who complained.
The admissions process was smooth and none of my information was compromised like one person complained (I don’t believe them and I think they wrote a false review). I transferred to AMU from my local technical college. They even transferred college credits from 2010. They are regionally accredited by HLC.They have a generous transfer policy. They offer military discounts. You don’t pay for e-books. But if you want a hardcover textbook, you will have to pay it elsewhere. Customer service is very professional and understanding. Most of my instructors are excellent except one. But I got refunded for that class with the bad instructor. They listen to my concerns against that instructor. Yes, some instructors are not as interactive as others. I am OK with that because I am a busy, working parent. I don’t have time to be social.
Online learning isn’t for everyone and if you expect this university to hold your hand, this isn’t the school for you. It’s for self-disciplined, independent learners like me. I learned a lot in my classes—college is what you make of it. Don’t blame the school when you are lazy, doing the bare minimum, and refuse to read the resources provided to you.
So keep in mind when you read bad reviews, look at how long they attended and if their complaint is reasonable. Some people post unreasonable reviews.
Overall, this is a decent university for anyone who needs a degree quickly for a promotion or to go to graduate school—like me. My employer will be giving me a raise and a promotion when I graduate with my Bachelor’s degree from...

Read moreThis was my third time going to college. Prior to American military University, I was an honor grad and NTHS at both previous schools. Coming to the school I was grossly underwhelmed by the lack of involvement in both the instructors as well as the admissions team. It may be that these classes are fantastic if you already know the content and you just want to sharpen your skills or knowledge. However, if your goal is to come and learn a new skill set or trade, I would highly discourage anybody from attending this college. I want to make this very clear, all the office personnel involved with the VA or student technical help were fantastic. However, my experience with the admissions team and the instructors I had was either dishonest or detached. I pray they do better in the future but my current impression is this school...
