Casa Del Mar II — Restaurant in Charleston

Okay my family and I went there for dinner. Have been there a few times before and everything was A++, this time it was more of a B-, staff was excellent, restaurant like always very clean, but the food this time around was hit or miss (mine was a miss) I get it they were probably short and just having an off night, and like I said before food normally is OMG amazing. So would I go back? Yes, but if I go a few more times and it's like it just was...I don't think I'll be going back. But everyone has there opps moments sometimes even businesses/restaurants. I know I've been having them all week. If you do good and try it out, I hope it is like it was before for you and not what some of us had this go around. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. The wait-staff were not very enthusiastic. I ordered a Taco salad with ground beef. When it arrived, there was maybe a 1/4 cup of beef literally swimming in water from the cup of shredded lettuce, and the lettuce was actually warmer than the ground beef it was hiding. No tomatoes, nothing else but the fore mentioned beef and lettuce. When I inquired about some extra beef, lettuce and tomatoes, I got cold beef, dripping wet lettuce, and no tomatoes. I would’ve received better food and service from across the street at Taco Bell. We just paid the bill and left. Very very very dissatisfied and will not...

The salsa was lifeless. It tasted like tomato paste. The beans tasted mushy and had the visual consistency of baby food. Minimal to no help from staff. We could have walked out without paying then came back, ordered again, and then walked back out without paying in an endless loop that went on just as long as the wait for service. With this being said, I don’t believe the staff to have even recognized that we were there - outside of us ordering and having to find the staff to have us pay them. Lastly, the music choices...
