A Transatlantic Journey to an Authentic English Pub Right in James Island
From the moment I walked into My Father's Moustache, I felt like I had been transported straight to a cozy, authentic English pub. The ambiance is nothing short of magical—leather couches, a warm fireplace, and traditional decor create an atmosphere where you can truly unwind.
The Happy Hour to End All Happy Hours
My Father's Moustache offers a stellar happy hour Monday through Friday from 4-7pm that you don’t want to miss. The deals are amazing and it's the perfect opportunity to sample their extensive list of beverages.
Soccer Enthusiast’s Paradise
As a soccer fan, I was thrilled to find out that they show all the Premier League and Champions League games. There's nothing quite like enjoying a good match surrounded by fellow enthusiasts, all while indulging in some great food and drink.
A Culinary Masterpiece: Steak and Ale Pie
The Steak and Ale Pie is a game changer. Handmade with puff pastry that the owner says takes 12 hours to perfect, it was an absolute delight. It reminded me of the comforting, homemade meals my grandmother used to make back in Scotland. A touch of nostalgia with each bite!
Rare Finds: HP Sauce, 77 Scotches, and UK Beers
For those in the know, finding HP Sauce in America is like finding a needle in a haystack. But they've got it! Their beverage selection is also unparalleled, boasting 77 different scotches and a variety of UK beers that are hard to come by in Charleston.
Recreation Galore: Pool, Darts, and More
The fun doesn’t stop at food and drink—there's a pool table and a darts area for those looking to engage in some friendly competition.
In summary, My Father's Moustache is more than just a pub—it’s a little slice of England right here in James Island, SC. Whether you’re coming for the food, the sports, or the ambiance, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable experience. Read moreI had a to-go order of corned beef and cabbage the day before St Patty's Day. It seemed like I stood near the front for a few minutes and then at the bar. No one acknowledged me. I finally sat at a table until a waitress acknowledged me. She seemed busy but attentive. At home when I was eating I noticed a reddish brown leaf in my food. It seemed foreign to me, so a couple of days later I called to ask about it. I asked to speak to the chef, and what sounded like a younger smug black guy who had answered the phone seemed to have an ego problem when I asked about the leaf. I asked if he was the chef and he told me that he was right there with the chef. He seemed to have a problem with me talking to the chef. I asked him if a leaf was supposed to be in the food as part of the seasoning. I asked him if maybe a bay leaf was used. He said yes but I'm not sure if I believed him. I then asked him if there was maybe cloves in it. He gave me a smart-ass answer like he couldn't give away the secrets or all the ingredients. Everyone has the right to know what is in their food. Especially with some people having food allergies. He told me that I would just have to come back and order it again. Based on his lack of cooperation and his attitude I don't think I want to return to that establishment. The corned beef and cabbage was not that good either. I don't think they have to worry about me stealing that recipe. Thinking about taking the leaf to a DHEC lab to...
Read morehis review is in reference to the James Island Maybank highway location. First the waiter 1* bldg was cold, the bathrooms are terrible, they need to use the bowl brush that they have there, and this was the beginning of service for the day, so no chance of saying it was from earlier. Now the food, if that what it is called, hamburger bun, right out the kitchen cold, mushrooms on burger cold, the meat, luke warm , the fries well, they are fries. The fish frozen and not fully cooked (frozen battered) told the waiter did he apologize, nope, that so what you want me to do look. very nonchalant, maybe he has another job, because a waiter shouldn't be his job ( I didn't get his name, because he never gave one, and it is not on the receipt) even he had on a jacket, should have been first sign to leave, but we stayed. Made it through, hopefully we will not be sick from this mediocre food. The good reviews, must be friends, or maybe based on Mt Pleasant location. would be a nice pool hall and beer drinking, but, don't waste your money on the food!!!! Oh my friend told the waiter, not to add a tip to the bill because she was going to do it in cash. when we looked at the receipt he tipped himself $8.73 for the 38.00 meal, go to chic fil la, McDonald's, anywhere else but here. I couldn't wait to write this, and will place it on all social media, so the owners can do better. Hopefully, I am not the only person who has given reviews of this nature....
