James Island Christian Church — Attraction in Charleston

We’ve been attending for over a year. It seemed like a really good fit very family friendly and seemed spirit filled. We attending the Mother’s Day service recently and they mentioned a baby dedication the next weekend and to fill out an inquiry form if you are interested in dedicating your child so I did. I thought it was more of an altar call kind of thing when I filled out the inquiry. They ended up giving us a date that we would do it which was over a month away. I invited family and friends with invitations and made plans to have a meal with them after then days before a pastor called and rudely asked me if we lived in Charleston (I’ve met this guy several times but he obviously had no clue who I was) and said that bc we aren’t members we can’t do the dedication and called it. Then I embarrassingly have to uninvited all my family and friends. Creating family strife as my father is not happy we aren’t Catholic and this just confirms to him I’m making bad decisions. This was handled so poorly and I can’t explain my disappointment. They are literally telling you to invite lots of family and friends bc this is an opportunity for evangelism and then this well how does this look to a non believer. We won’t be attending again. No problem if they would have looked into the membership issue when I inquired, but to do it so last minute when this had been planned for months...

From the first time we visited James Island Christian Church, and since, we have felt a genuineness about the congregation, the people are really kind and friendly, and the Pastor, Russ Miller, weaves together a message combined with solid Biblical teaching and the application of it. He is a humble man of God, and it is refreshing to be part of a Church who clearly understands what is truly important. At the end of the day, its all about Jesus Christ, and how authentically His message is proclaimed. I feel confident pointing anyone who is searching for a solid, Bible based Church, to consider...

My wife and I are on vacation and decided to visit today. We felt very welcomed ! This Church has a wealth of maturity that we could see and feel thru the Worship, Testimonials, and Teaching. I felt like they really cared about true Discipleship. We Love our Church at home but if we ever lived around this area we would definitely be with this Church. God...
