Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Charleston

The hospitality is TERRIBLE!! I am, well was, a regular at this place and today’s experience was over the top! I ordered an order of honey chicken and TWO regular chicken wings. The women in the phone thought I ordered 2 orders of chicken wings. So when I got there I told them they had the order mixed up. They yelled at me and told me that they can’t trust me and that I was lying because I canceled ONE order before due to a work situation. I continued to tell them that I was not going to cancel the order just correct it. He told me that I had 2 options; to buy what I “ordered” or to not eat at all. Then his father came storing out of the back yelling and raising his voice calling me a liar. I feel like all of the name calling and denying your customer their food is NEVER an option as an employer; family owned business or not. That was completely unnecessary and a huge waste of my time. I will never eat there again in my life and I’d advise the same for you all. Even the attitudes are terrible. I said thank you guys so much one time and the women stood there and looked me in my face then...

There was a really nice young boy (maybe 9 or 10 years old) working the counter. He took my order and was pleasant in the manner of which he gave my the food and made sure I had everything I wanted. However, I went home and ate it - I wasn't fond on the sauce, general tsaos, which tasted like ketchup. Anyways, after I ate about half of it, I began losing my appetite, and I never regained it the rest of the day. I couldn't sleep that night and began feeling sick, and was finally able to throw up at about 4 am. I spent the entire next day throwing up, feverish, with body pain, a headache and multiple trips to the toilet. Luckily, I finally feel OK now, 48...

Told the owner working that my chicken wings were fried too hard two weeks ago and to make sure my wings weren’t overcooked for this order, and she gave me attitude. She refused to serve me and said if I have a problem with their cooking eat somewhere else. She then stormed off and started yelling to her husband in their language about me. So he ran over and he told me to get out and leave because the chicken will be cooked as it recently was and not a minute sooner. How rude! I guess customers shouldn’t complain about food they spend their money...
