1900 Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Charlotte

I went there last night and today with the office. They have greatly cut back on their portion sized! I got the Alambre taco's last night and they used to fill the entire taco. Now they put a small amount in the center of the taco leaving the two size empty. It is so obvious that they have cut back.

Today, I went with my office and I ordered the quesadillas and told my fellow workers that the portion of this menu item was so big that you could take the other half home for another meal. I had to eat my words, because to my terrible surprise it was a mere proportion to what I used to get. I think they are using small tortillas instead of large tortillas because it was outrageous the different in the portion to what I was used to. Then they charge the same price for almost half of the size portion they used to charge. No wonder their was nobody in the restaurant while we were eating there. This was one of the best experiences ever! The margaritas are mixed in house with juices and their own recipe, (add Grand Marnier!!!) They are hands down the best!!! The house Salsa is full of flavor and has fresh cilantro, onions, and other ingredients, one of the best I have had in a very long time! We had the house guacamole it is fresh made in house and is absolutely to die for!!!...let's just say, we will be back and bring all our guests that come to stay with us in Charlotte as well. We just moved from Columbus, Ohio and have loved going to our local Mexican restaurants, well we have definitely found our own new place here in Charlotte!!! Maria, one of the owners is so wonderful, she checked on us regularly and was training a new person, Alondra, who was also very talented and great with us.

I would have given this beautiful establishment a 4-5 star rating. But due to service and how I felt neglected I had to give them 3 stars. Everyone around me was getting top notch service and I just sat there looking. I ordered guacamole as an app and it never came until my entree came out. Had to ask for a refill on water after the waiter came to my table and saw my glass was empty. I had very high expectations for this restaurant because I had heard great things. The top two was how good the food is and how excellent the service was. Guess today may have been an off day. I wouldn't like to think that my brown skin made a difference since I was the only person of my race in here. Mexican restaurants in South Carolina are more friendly and treat everyone the same. This is my second experience at an Mexican restaurant here in Charlotte where I felt very uncomfortable...
