I decided to give Big City Slices a try since they’re new to the neighborhood, but I honestly don’t see how they’re going to compete with Sal’s Pizza Factory up the street. While their slices are larger, the process they use isn’t efficient. Instead of having a variety of premade pies on display, they keep cheese slices in the back and add toppings to order, which then go in the oven. This made the service incredibly slow—I waited over 10 minutes for a few slices.
When I finally got my pizza, I was disappointed. The toppings slid off with each bite, and the flavor just wasn’t there. I also tried the garlic knots, but they were bland and lacked any seasoning or real garlic flavor.
Overall, I wasn’t impressed and won’t be coming back. If you’re in the area, I’d suggest sticking with Sal’s for a much...
Read moreBeen here at least 10 times, with 5 of them getting a slice of Margherita, which is their par baked cheese pizza, and then they add the toppings and reheat. Was told today that, I cannot get the Margherita as a slice and mentioned I ordered it like this in the past. Nope. No offering or mention of a custom slice. For crying out loud, you top pre-cooked cheese pizzas with additional toppings and then reheat. What if I ask for a pepperoni slice add jalapeños or sausage? I always pay extra for toppings on my side. A once loyal customer and an extra $1.50 in revenue has now been lost, for what...2 cents of effort and 15 cents in ingredients. Even in NY they don't do this, they just smile and charge for the toppings... And of course, they choose to blame the customer in...
Read moreGot food from here for the first time recently, the pizza was AMAZING. One of the best I've had in Charlotte in a long time. Almost reminds me of Tony's Pizza but better. I also tried the garlic knots and they were great, also the marinara was nice and thick, very rich red color and not watery at all. Yum. I would eat here once a week if I lived closer. My only knock on the restaurant is that their dining room smelled odd, I wonder if some of the swamp gas from the fitness center next door is making it's way over through the ceiling or something. I would call a plumber and make sure you're not missing a sewer p-trap...
