We took a trip to the magical Blue Door to celebrate my husband's birthday. What a gem. When we walked it - it reminded us of the private speakeasies of the 50s. From the security to the young women at the door it was already a step above. One woman checked out names in - and the other young woman hung our coats. We were then led through the magic blue door to the bar. It was my husband's birthday and they handed him a card and we were greeted with two glasses of crisp champagne. After a quick trip to the spotless and very cool restrooms we were given a tour of the menu by Michael. We love bespoke cocktails but the menu was literally a trip to some iconic cities around the US. I ordered the Denver, Co and my husband ordered New Orleans - both were delicious! We loved how the menu told a story - and we enjoyed paying through remembering trips we took to cities across the country. The service was amazing with all the bartenders being attentive. Each making us a round of drinks. We ended our night with an Italian liqueur which was a nice way to cap the evening off. Today I received an email to thank us for our patronage. The small touches really impressed us. This beautiful little bar shows care and attention is given to the details and hospitality is provided to the highest standards. We want to thank Michael and the entire staff for giving us a really special experience to celebrate my husband's birthday! We cannot wait to visit...

As a Boston local, I recently spent ~a month in Charlotte for a change of scenery and Blue Door quickly became my favorite spot in the area. I love cocktails and probably tried half the spots in Uptown/South End (and beyond) during my time in the city, but Blue Door was easily my favorite and the only one I went back to multiple times, and brought my local friends to visit.

The menu is unbeatable, truly creative and there were plenty of options for everyone. The bartenders and waitstaff were so kind and helpful. The atmosphere was everything I want in a cocktail bar - comfortable and intimate but still friendly.

I was always surprised by how quiet it was when I visited - I did go during off-peak hours earlier in the evening/after work on weekdays, but it is a spot that would be constantly mobbed if it existed in Boston. It seems the location is less popular for foot traffic, but I would highly encourage folks to make their way slightly off the beaten path and check it out.

If I lived in Charlotte I quickly would've made this my go-to cocktail bar. Looking forward to returning whenever I'm in the area - many thanks to the whole...

Our first time here, it's been on our list of places to try for a few months. We made reservations early because we don't like crowds and we like chatting with the Bartenders and other guest. The menu has many cocktails to choose from, each drink representing a US city. It's presented as a guide book, with details about each city. What a fun conversation aspect. The cocktails were amazing and so creative, love the little touches of the side of corn nuts on one of the drinks. They don't serve food, but they bring you a bowl of truffle popcorn. No outside food allowed, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area that are walkable. Great vibe for a date night or just hanging with friends. Thanks Mike, Chase and Jordan for the lovely...
