Unbelievable what occurred here tonight. I was with a friend at the bar talking with another friend I suppose of the bartender and the long-haired boyfriend of the bartender starts to berate me from across the bar. We were speaking about politics in West Virginia where some of our family are both from. This guy decides to intervene. I put my hand up the first time to told him to back off and then I told him to shut the bleep up cuz we were talking. Bare in mind he was way at the other end of the bar. This kid gets up and gets in my face and I invite him outside. Then when I get outside, he begins to lock the door as it is apparent that he is somehow an employee and a boyfriend of the bartender. My friend make certain but I can get back inside because we were concerned that we could pay our bill. The lady bartender goes absolutely berserk and gets extremely emotional and wants to call the cops and gets us banned. I've been coming there for nearly 30 years, nearly 30 years including memories with my light mother. Somebody aggresses me and I invited him outside and the 20-something year-old woman bartender calls the cops on me and my friend. Rather than leaving we decide to wait for the police. And of course they don't arrest us because we didn't do anything wrong. However, we were told we were banned from the premises. My name is kyle johnson in my son is also known there. I've actually known the owner since 2005 when he came to my offices at Wall Street Capital. I've always liked this place is it was a family operation. I came there late night with a very good friend of mine who is also a somewhat regular from time to time. His name is Anton Gembs. We are embarrassed for the restaurant. The idea that I'm banned for having been agressed for having done nothing wrong is ridiculous. I do not know who the boyfriend is of the bartender, but he was absolutely the troublemaker in this event. Apparently he...
Read morePopped in here on a whim after deciding that I wanted something to eat to avoid waking up hungry. Not far from my lodging, I noticed a few other guests with the boxes and it made it an easy choice.
A generous military discount is available with ID. Parking is available without hassle and since the pizzeria is located in the middle of the shops, you can easily walk. It was close to closing and I want to say thank you to the staff who didn't tell this hangry gal no when wings were on my wish list. Most places unapologetically will just say no and you sit there in your feelings. The good customer service and accommodating made it a no brainer when it came to tipping.
There is alcohol served here. You can dine at the bar, high tables or booths. There are televisions available if you want to watch sports. Large enough for groups and personable enough for those who do not fear dining alone. Yes, that's a real thing for some.
In the warmer weather, you can dine outside. This location supports call ahead orders, ordering in person for dine in or to go orders. I was happy with my personal pizza choice of sausage with spicy honey. For the wings, I was able to split the flavors and get half with blackened seasoning and the other half buffalo style. Plenty of food to satiate and to share.
Definitely on my return list when...
Read moreWe/I've been here many times, and this time was just one to remember, so it reminded me to write a review. On Saturday, June 8th, we didn't have any leftovers in the fridge, so we went to Brixx because that's where we usually go if we don't know what to order. It's not expensive, they have giftcards, and it's usually quick. Our server, Jenny (if I recall correctly), was phenomenal. Our table received the bruschetta with extra tomatoes and I absolutely loved it. It was so crispy, and had just the right amount of tomatoes, feta/mozzarella, and balsamic. For my entree, I had the blackened dry rub wings, and they were out of this world. The best wings I've had in a long time (well, they also have other wings here that are amazing but this is my favourite) and they did not disappoint. They were perfectly sized and had just the right amount of dry rub. It wasn't too spicy or smoky or anything, it was just right, something I wouldn't have thought because this is one of the house favourites at Brixx. I've been here over 30 times, and this has got to be one of my favourite pizza, pasta, salad, bruschetta, and wings places in Charlotte. I haven't tried the S'more Pizza for dessert, but it...
