Enjoyed the atmosphere and the wine, and some of the food was awesome, unfortunately some was just adequate. The Truffle Fries were perfect, some of the best fries I've ever had. Fried perfectly so they were crispy but not hard and none were soggy or undercooked. The House Made Ricotta was excellent, the green olives were a very nice addition, I think I would have like more of them but it was still very good. The Caramlized Brussel Sprouts weren't super caramelized and had far to much soy in the soy-chili glaze, if overpowered most of the flavors. Though not as caramelized as I would have preferred, the sprouts were cooked very well, not raw too raw or overcooked. The Chicken Flatbread was our biggest disappointment, it was very dry and kind of bland because of it. Maybe the fault lies with the almond pesto but it just needed more moisture. Though we liked it the least, it was still okay, the Flatbread just wasn't up to the same level as the Ricotta (nothing comes close to those fries). We definitely plan on going back, there are several other things I really want to try, I just probably won't get the flatbread next time.

A fun hangout spot where you can do wine and appetizers or dinner. The atmosphere is lively, and the space is limited, so make sure you make reservations. We had great service and the food was good, but a few items (especially the house ricotta) were expensive for what you got. They have options for wine by the glass or you can build your own "flight" of 2 ounce pours, which is a great concept. I was a bit surprised at how limited the wine list was for this being a wine-only spot - there were 15 reds, 11 whites, and 7 others including rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines (but nothing fortified since in NC that requires a liquor license). They have a bunch more wines lining all the walls that are available for purchase that are not reflected on the menu, so perhaps the idea is if you want something more than a flight or a glass, there are hundreds of bottles you can choose from. Our server didn't mention it but I assume that's how it works. Overall I would be happy to come back for wine and maybe light hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, but I don't think I'd plan on any entrees next time.

My visit here was on a nice sunny day and it was a bit busy. There were people outside and inside. This was more of a surprise for me. My friend brought me here. After looking at the menu, I didn’t really see much I wanted. However, the waiter had great things to say about the truffle fries and donuts, so we got them. They were both beyond delicious. As I’m typing this, I can taste the donuts and now I’m craving them!! For wine, we got a Riesling. It was good. We drank/shared the whole bottle haha. I would come back! No complaints at all.

I've been here a couple of times and it's been alright. The last time I patronized this location, it was about 8:15 PM and we chose to come here because Bar One at Phillips Place was standing room only. The dining area was about 50% full when we got there. As soon as we sat down, the server informed us that we had 1 minute (No exaggeration! He literally said one minute) to decide what to eat as there was a last call on food due to a private party starting at 9 PM. He also told us that last call for drinks was in 15 minutes due to the private party. We ordered the first thing that looked appealing and we also ordered a glass of wine. A few minutes after ordering, he comes back and one of the meals was unavailable so we had to order something else. From that point, we waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Before the food arrived however, our server did ask if we wanted more wine. We were past the 8:30 'last call' for drinks so this kind of surprised us. We scarfed down our meals as we wanted to be mindful of the time. The server asked if we wanted more wine after we finished eating, which again, surprised us since we needed to be out by 9 for the private event so we declined and got the check. I tipped 25% because I'm not the type of person to punish wait staff by being a bad tipper, but if I'm being honest, I was dissatisfied with the experience. We felt rushed, like we were an inconvenience. What solidified this feeling was the fact that none of the other tables seemed to be on a time crunch. No one else seemed to be hurried out. None of the other tables were in any hurry to wrap up. They were all still hanging out when we left. We left by 9 PM and there didn't appear to be any big party arriving so what we had hoped would have been a relaxing evening, enjoying good food and wine, ended up being a $125 fast-food experience. The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm probably not going to be going back. This review is to make management aware so that they may prevent this type of scenario from happening in the future so other patrons don't leave feeling like they...

My wife and sister recently visited this restaurant for what was supposed to be a relaxing evening out. They were seated and enjoying a glass of wine along with an appetizer when their experience took an unfortunate turn.

Their first server was wonderful—attentive, kind, and professional. However, after this initial server left, a different staff member took over and the tone of the evening changed drastically. Despite the fact that they were prepared to order dinner, this new server approached the table and said, in no uncertain terms, that they had been there too long and needed to leave. She asked, “Did no one tell you about our policy on how long you can sit at a table?”—as if they were loitering rather than continuing to order and engage as patrons.

To be clear, they were not lingering without purchasing. They were mid-meal, ready to order entrees, and doing what anyone at a restaurant does—enjoying the atmosphere and service. To be told that their time was up, without any advance notice or grace, was not only embarrassing but deeply disrespectful.

If a restaurant has a time limit policy for tables, that should be communicated up front and handled with tact. Rushing guests out, especially those still ordering, reflects poorly on the establishment’s hospitality standards.

What started as a lovely evening turned into a disappointing one, and sadly, this experience has overshadowed what could have been a glowing review. I hope management will consider how such situations are handled in the future—because customers who feel valued are far more...

UPDATE: I truly appreciate the management taking this seriously, and taking the time to check in with their staff and to reply to my comments. It may very well be that our server did not realize how she came across a couple of times, and that we simply took things the wrong way. Based on the fact that she has had so many positive reviews from other customers, perhaps it was a misunderstanding. In any case, several of us got the same feeling, which is why I posted the review. But I truly do appreciate the follow up, as it means a lot. The wine was great and the menu items I chose were very good. However, it did feel like our server was a bit rude to some of the people at our table (and honestly, the people she was rude to were the black women in our group). When I looked at the other large groups of people there, I don't think we were acting any differently or overly demanding, so I am not sure why the rude treatment happened. I hate making the assumption that it was a racial thing, but since our group was the only one with black people (that I could see, anyway), it sure as heck felt like a racial thing.

The food and wine were 4 stars, but the...
