The food for the most part is good. You can tell they've made changes over the years, as the quality of some of the dishes have tanked. For example, Shrimp Fried Rice now includes Fried Shrimp (or at least Shrimp dipped in a flower batter).
We've been ordering from this place for nearly 7 years and I found out that this place uses Grub Hub. I wanted to redeem a Grub Hub coupon so I placed an order and realized it was for pick up not delivery. Upon calling, the business agreed to change it. Several minutes later, I received an email reflecting a $2.00 increase on the bill (this portion was not covered by the coupon). It's worth noting that this business does not charge a delivery fee.
Once the food was delivered, the driver immediately asked for a tip. Then they asked if I wanted them to charge it back to the card. I explained that they've already charged a non-standard fee. He turned around with an attitude and got back in the card and waited outside awhile before leaving.
This location regularly sends drivers who ask for a tip. Many of which, immediately develop an attitude (or refuse to speak) if you are not tipping. Personally, I do not believe delivery drivers should be tipped.Unlike waiters/servers, drivers have no potential to sway customers into giving a tip. They simply deliver food, they do not wait on you and tend to your every need.
In the beginning, I was more than happy to tip. There was one time I gave a driver a $5 tip out of $20, he took the twenty and gave me some ones and claimed he didn't have enough to make change. He even offered to give it to me next time. Well, funny... Because when I said I need it back, he was able to make the...
Read moreI am from NYC. Where good food is good food. So here it is. I loved this place over a year ago when I found it. I tipped 20 percent each time. I thought it was odd the first time they took over an hour during a weekday. 2 hrs the next time after I forgot the time before that. And today was an hour and a half again. Each time my food was so cold it was no where near enjoyable. Hey I understand traffic is a beast out here and stuff happens. But now it's Everytime they are either missing something or it's wrong. I order the same thing Everytime. And Everytime it's just crazy. I pay 4 $ more for pork fried rice with sweet n sour chicken. Do I ever get it? This time I left it alone, and you know, I got white rice instead. All freezing cold .As much as I love their flavor, I just can't allow to have such poor detail and service. Is it new management? Good grief! One time I had to leave my house and go to Wendy's for my kid because I didn't know what time they were coming. Even after I called it was 40 min after that. If I were you, don't get delivery. I'm a busy single mom and we live Chinese food. I just don't have time to sit somewhere. Either way, I'm on a hunt for the next Chinese food menu. Sorry Cherry House 2. You lost my buisness. If you don't care to get orders right and delivery in decent time to deliver hot food, then I can't contribute to your buisness .If it was once or twice that would be understandable. But not Everytime. My chicken was cold and soggy. Horrible. My daughter ate a can of...
Read moreWe made a $33 mistake!!!
We had a menu left on our door so we decided to give them a try. We normally go to Boading in the Plaza on Sharon Rd. and Fairview but they are pricey so we tried to save a few dollars....WRONG!!! The term you get what you pay for doesn't even apply because I've had Chinese food for less than this that was much more tasty. We ordered Shrimp Fried rice which looked like the packaged yellow GOYA rice you get from Compared Foods. There was too many onions and very little shrimp to be found. We also ordered the shrimp and cashew dish with mushrooms and zucchini. It should be renamed mushrooms galore with a few shrimp and cashews and a few pieces of zucchini. The taste was bland and flavorless. The shrimp and broccoli was overflowing with broccoli and about 5 pieces of shrimp....sad sad sad. Last and certainly least was the egg rolls; they were mushy and had some type of ground up meat but we requested vegetable egg rolls?!?!
Needless to say most of the dinner went into the trash and we felt compelled to leave a a warning to anyone else contemplating patronizing Cherry House II. I urge you to reconsider and find some place else to go. Pay a little more and go to Boading, just a suggestion but believe me you will thank me for it.
Wish I could have given...
