The Jeni's in Noda is surprisingly my favorite location so far. Don't get me wrong, the south end location will always be OG but...it's ALWAYS crowded. Anyways, my husband and I came here recently to get a few pints to go, and waited in line because we weren't sure which ones to get. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes (which felt long in the moment), I realized there were only 2 people working and everyone wants to taste multiple types so the wait made sense.
After trying a few samples, we decided on 'Honey Vanilla Bean' and 'Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip'. Both were so stinking delicious. I know you're thinking...honey vanilla bean? That is the most basic ice cream I could have gotten. But, there's something about simple flavors that get me. It was a perfect hint of sweetness with the honey. After buying pints from here, we found out there's Jeni's pints in stores like Harris Teeter and Publix (except those could possibly generate frost on the top after being in the freezer for a long time). I doubt the pint would last that long in our freezer, so will get it from the bigger stores next time. The pints in store are $12 and wholesale, it's $8.
Definitely recommend those 2...

Overall: stopped by here after a trip to some local breweries before getting on the light rail back to hotel. So glad we did! We headed to The Chamber next door and smelled the amazing, sweet air and were intrigued, to say the least. After a flight next door and visit to Cabo Fish Taco, the plan was to go directly to the rail, but we couldn't resist. Glad we did!!
Ice Cream: tasty and delightful. Had some really awesome flavor combinations and it was tough to choose from. Brandied Banana Brulee, Gooey Butter Cake, Buttercream Birthday, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and I'm supposed to choose? :) Luckily, they let you do half scoops, so went with 1/2 Almond Brittle & Gooey Cake. AMAZING!!! Got it in a waffle bowl and it was devoured in less than 10 minutes.
Service: friendly, helpful, and prompt
Location/Interior: perfect location as it is steps from NoDa district complete with restaurants, bars, breweries and shops. Only a handful of feet from light rail 36th station.
Value: standard fair and great value for taste and quality. $5 for each, which some places charge more.

Read moreImmediately upon entering, i noticed the expansive decor and the high ceilings. And that this business was immaculate. I introduced myself to the young lady behind the counter; her name was India and she was making waffle cones just as fast as they would cook in the 3 waffle irons that she was constantly refilling with unerring efficiency. Her personality was through the roof. Marcel asked me if I'd be interested in trying any flavors, or something in particular. I tried the salted peanut with chocolate flecks and it was fantastic. I had the waffle cone with this and was not disappointed. The business was extremely inviting, the restrooms were immaculate and there was a cold water dispenser available to quench your thirst after eating your ice cream, cone or otherwise. There was no shortage of customers in this establishment. And if you like really good ice cream this is the place for you.
