Red Sake — Restaurant in Charlotte

What a gem of a sushi bar, just right. Located in a quaint setting it’s great for casual or fancy eating. My wife, 5 year old daughter and I loved our experience dinning in, we usually DoorDash from here which has always been great, but wanted to check if the place matched the food and we were more than pleased!

We arrived at 5:30pm and we were told to wait 5 minutes, but were sat within less time. We were surprised to see the place was nearly full with every booth and table taken. Our server was so nice! I appreciate her writing down our order and repeating it back. We didn’t hold back, having tried their edamame with salt and miso soup which were excellent! Then the rolls: rainbow, California, spider, and spicy tuna jalapeño. Delicious quality, good sized pieces of fish on top of the rainbow roll, crispy and fresh spider roll, well mixed spicy tuna and addictive California roll, my daughter couldn’t stop! She ate hers and half of mine! Haha We then all teamed up on some chicken pad Thai and it was out of this world! Was not expecting that!! Finally their fried cheese cake was unlike anything we’d had before. Like an elephant ear from the carnival with warm cheesecake inside. It was a single slice and great for us to share.

The pricing was more than fair for the quality and everything we got. We didn’t get alcoholic drinks this time, but the bar looked very tempting and so was the drink menu. We sat at a booth, but there is an actual sushi bar and TVs around the room with college basketball sports and Olympics on. Two managers checked on us and our plates were cleared as we were going through the meal. By the time we left there were a good amount of people waiting to be seated.

All in all it was just the experience we were hoping for and will be back again soon to try more of the great selections on the menu. Thank you Red Sake, wishing you many more years of success serving our community with your delicious quality and...

The food is always great and whenever Lorenzo is working, he is very pleasant to deal with. On 3 separate occasions the female staff have been awful. Once my food was made incorrectly and when I called to ask that it be corrected, a female staff member was extremely nasty and hung up on me. Once while dining in, a blonde server was extremely inattentive (same one who was rude when I went to pick up my corrected order) and seemed inconvenienced by doing her job. Barely checked on drinks and took forever to bring the check/food. This morning I called and the woman who took my order was very condescending and impatient. Made me feel like garbage. I would STRONGLY recommend terminating the blonde and there is another female server there as well who we’ve had issues with more than once. It’s a pandemic and competition is tight. If not for Lorenzo, and how close the restaurant is to my house, the bad attitude and poor service alone would be enough to never spend my money here again. From the other reviews, seems like I’m not the first person to notice the female staff seem bothered to have jobs. I’m sure there are plenty of people right now who would love a job, and perform it...

I have so many friends that absolutely love red sake so they took me there for lunch one afternoon and this is what I'm doing a review of. Well I'm a huge sushi fan and Chinese food restaurant fan I have to say that while the sushi was good it was not fantastic the portions were small the prices were high I know I'm in a railroad area but still they seem slightly above normal. $3.50 for a can of diet Coke seemed obsessive as well. What really threw everything off was the minute we sat down somebody came to clean a table behind us with some kind of bleach spray and while that is normally a good thing because of covid and everything else going on in general cleanliness and sanitation and safety I am all a fan of however spraying heavy amounts of chlorine while somebody's about to start eating or eating their appetizer is a huge turnoff all I can smell was bleach and I feel like I had been sprayed.
