Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Charlotte

Update 8/2024: The last few visits have been great! Pickup orders have been accurate and on time and I've had several great experiences. This is my favorite takeout pizza store, so I'm glad they've been receptive to feedback and meeting delivery goals. Thank you!

Prior Review: In years past, this has been a 5-Star location. The pizza continues to be good as usual. Unfortunately, pickup times have been consistently wrong across multiple orders in early 2024. The online "order tracker" showed that the pizzas were ready 20 minutes after ordering, which I checked before leaving for pickup (with small children in the car). Unfortunately, I had to wait at the store for an additional 25 minutes past the scheduled pickup time for the pizza, with crying and hungry children. So, the estimated time was wrong and the online order tracker status was wrong and showed as "picked up" long before it was even ready.

I suspect that the employees are tricking the computer system for false metrics, and hiding the incorrect order times. I would have been fine if the order estimate said 45 minutes to pickup so that I could plan accordingly, instead of being misled and wasting my time waiting in the store. I will think twice before ordering from Marcos again until the timing can...

I love the pizza. We will definitely continue to order pizza. With this location though we will more than likely just do delivery. I do like the discount you get for doing pick up but the last couple times i switched to pick up and had to wait for atleast 30 minutes. It seems their online system doesn't match up with the workers. It's either human error or machine error but there was several people that came in with messages saying their pizza was ready. Long behold the pizza was still in the oven.

I did feel bad for the one worker that was there. There was a delivery driver that came in that helped out a few customers then quickly left with a delivery within 10 minutes. It was very nice to see more workers come in to help out. The location did quickly fix what was happening. They workers seemed flustered and frustrated with what was going on so they were very distant to the customers.

Over all though i will continue to order pizza from this location. We will mainly do delivery...

The food is great. If not for this one thing I would give them 5 stars. I only gave three stars because I feel they can do better with securing the food when you order door dash or delivery. It’s unbelievable how they send the pizza out for delivery and anyone can open the box. The box is unsecured. It’s not so hard to securely tape the box closed. Other pizza places do that. Anyone can open the box after it leaves the store and that should be something that is of the most importance when sending food out. I would think the restaurant would protect not only the customers but also themselves by securing the food. There are other restaurants who use “deliver safe” happy bags and atleast close the box with a good strong adhesive tape that will indicate by pulling off some of the box if it’s been opened or remained closed. This is common at other pizza places. I’m really surprised they overlook this important thing. It makes it seem like they don’t really care about...
