In the heart of Charlotte (Steel Creek Area) Piedmont Social House stands as a beacon of culinary delight and social camaraderie. Yet, amidst the inviting ambiance and the clinking of glasses, one element transforms a pleasant evening into an unforgettable experience: an exceptional bartender. On a recent visit, Taylor exemplified this role to perfection.
From the moment I settled into my seat at the bar, Taylor's presence was both reassuring and invigorating. Her welcoming smile and easy confidence suggested a bartender who not only knows her craft but loves it. It's easy to become jaded by the oft-repeated rituals of bar service, yet Taylor managed to make each moment feel fresh and personal.
My evening began with a double Jameson and ginger—an admittedly simple request, yet one that requires a delicate balance. Taylor executed it with such precision that the flavors melded seamlessly, setting a promising tone for the night. Her efficient manner meant that despite a busy bar, I never felt neglected or rushed. Each drink was a masterpiece in itself, crafted with care and a keen eye for detail.
As the evening progressed, I ventured to try an Old Fashioned. Here, Taylor's skill truly shone. The blend of bourbon, bitters, and a twist of citrus was flawless, a testament to her deep understanding of mixology. It was not just a drink, but an experience, evoking a sense of tradition and innovation in every sip.
Taylor’s prowess extended beyond the bar. She ensured that my culinary choices complemented my drinks perfectly. The teriyaki wings were a delightful juxtaposition of sweet and savory, while the crispy chips provided a satisfying crunch. Even the green tea shots—often a mere afterthought at many bars—were a revelation. They were balanced and smooth, showcasing Taylor's ability to elevate even the most casual of drinks.
What truly set Taylor apart, however, was her impeccable sense of timing and attention. She was attentive without being intrusive, always there when needed but never hovering. It's a delicate dance, one that she performed with remarkable grace. Taylor made sure I was comfortable, engaging in light conversation that felt genuine and warm.
In an era where the role of the bartender often gets overshadowed by the flair of mixology, Taylor is a shining example of why the human touch remains irreplaceable. Her efficiency and charm not only enhanced my experience but also underscored the welcoming ethos of Piedmont Social House.
In conclusion, Taylor is not just a bartender; she is an ambassador of hospitality. Her ability to create memorable moments through impeccable service and exquisite drinks is a rare talent. Piedmont Social House should consider itself fortunate to have such a gem behind its bar. For anyone seeking an evening of superb drinks and unparalleled service, look no further than Taylor at Piedmont Social House. She is, quite simply, the epitome...
Read moreThis review is based on my experiences with their bowling alley. It’s not representative of all their services.
I came here because my usual bowling alley is closed on Sundays. I came in and it took me over 10 mins to get a lane. Now if a bowling alley is slammed, this makes sense, and is acceptable; however, I was the only person in line. The only person at the register was on call with a customer who couldn’t navigate their food menu because their online menu is out of date. Anyways after a little over 5 mins another employee comes to the register, but she couldn’t check me out because the “food register” was tied up with the first employee. So she left to get a digital machine to help me.
Finally she comes back I order my fish tacos get my lane and I’m excited to start my games. I’m the only one out on the lanes which is fine. It makes for a peaceful atmosphere. I put my shoes on, grab my ball from my bag and throw it to the absolute shock of my ball curving so hard it gutter balls 1/3rd of the way down the lane. I put my foot out on the lane and good god there is not a drop of oil. It would be safe to walk on their lanes. So I pull out my ball that doesn’t have a differential and it does the same thing despite stand as far left as I can go and throwing as far right as I can go without guttering on the right.
I’m convinced it been a month+ since the last time they oiled. My food comes out and the guy who brings me my food happens to be the manager. I bring up the dry lanes and he says it’s been a week and a half since they oiled them and they’ve been having a lot of event parties so that’s why the lanes are so dry. I take a bite of my food and…. It’s cold.
My honest two cents - This is a bowling alley geared towards parties. There will likely never be bowling tournaments here because this is a restaurant with a bowling alley for events tacked on. It’s not a bowling alley with a restaurant. Don’t bowl here if you own your own balls. If you’re a casual bowler then it’s alright I guess.
As for the food I would really love to believe they were just having a bad day, but they really weren’t all that busy, so what happened is they probably forgot to bring my food out.
Overall pretty bad experience. Probably will...
Read moreFirst time here. There is a huge outside seating area and outside game area. You are greeted as soon as you come through the door. It was very busy and folks were all over but there was not a wait for seating. They have 3 bars, 2 sets of bowling lanes an upstairs with some table games. The men's bathroom was clean, stocked, and not smelly. My wife and I ordered 5 wings each to start, they are not wings they are wingettes. Our waitress Auni asked how we wanted our wingettes cooked regular or fried hard. We like our wingettes regular, I like my wingettes crispy not hard. My wife had sweet chili sauce and ranch with hers, I had spicy teriyaki and blue cheese with mine, the wingettes and sauces were good. My wife also had blackened salmon tacos 3, with sweet potato fries, it also comes with chipotle lime ranch sauce that is so good. She said the salmon tacos were really good. I had the shrimp tacos the shrimp are fried perfectly, they were really good, but I did not like the sweet chili aioli sauce that comes on it, so if you are ordering shrimp tacos ask for the chipotle lime ranch sauce instead of that sweet chili aioli sauce, you will thank me later. I ordered regular fries with my tacos the fries were good. I will come back and order more shrimp tacos with the chipotle lime ranch sauce. They also have a lot of other items I would like to try as well. Our greeter that seated us and our waitress Auni were awesome!
4/22/23 This time here for 6pm dinner, I was part of a table of 8. I ordered a top-shelf long island ice tea, it was pretty good, just the right mix. I also ordered the southwest egg rolls they were hot and tasty. The table had fries, social nachos, lemon pepper boneless wings, bbq wings. I didn't really care for the lemon pepper boneless wings. I didn't like the batter used. The social nachos were ok. The totilla chips were too salty. The bbq wings and fries were good. Our waitress Makayla was very...
