Dry chicken. You only get a smile with your service if you look Hispanic. The reason I say this is because I am Cuban and African American. I look more African American. The female who rung me up had a great happy attitude with the Hispanic family before me. Once they finished ordering she looked at me and said "Are you ready?" No hello or welcome. This was my first time ever visiting here. I ignored her rudeness and started to order. The girl at the register next to her was very loud and I could barely hear the person ringing me up. The girl ringing me up was speaking very low in English and when I would ask a question she seemed frustrated. I ordered a 3 pcs camperitos kids meal with fries and an 8 pcs chicken only. After paying the girl did not give me a cup for the kids meal. I asked can I have the cup to get the drink while we wait? She replied you don't get a drink. I opened the menu and said it says here a kids 3pc and the kids drumstick come with one side and a drink. There are only those 2 kid meal options. She replies "well I rang you up for a kids 5 pc and it does not come with a drink." I responded I asked for a kids 3pc and fries. A 5pc is not an option on the menu so why would you ring me up for that and again it's not what I asked for. When I asked her, in Spanish to ring up a drink, a suprise look came on her face. And then she says oh I'm sorry I will just give you a drink free since I messed up. A few minutes later another girl calls my name, I wave because the counter is crowded with families and approaches me, handed me a bag and proceeds to walk away. I said thanks, she replies oh wait is this you? And shows me the ticket that was taped to the bag but she removed when she gave me the bag. I say yes. She then proceeds to tell me I have to give her my receipt. Not show her but give it to her. I ask why do you need it? And she says we keep the receipts. The 6 mins I was waiting for my food none of the people who had to go orders (all Hispanic) had to give their receipts to the person bringing their food. I told her you already have your copy and this is mine. Have a nice day. Well it didn't end there. I get home (live less than 10 mins driving distance) and the fries are cold and shriveled up as if they had been sitting all day. The 8 pc was really a 6 pcs because the 2 thigh pieces were so dried up it was basically bones. The rest of the chicken was dry and from the color seems like they refried the chicken that had been sitting out too long....
Read moreI ordered from Pollo Campero MULTIPLE times through Postmates and several times, the flan that I ordered AND paid for was not included in my orders. On one occasion I didn’t notice right away and I just blew it off. Another time when the flan I paid for was missing, I went through Postmates to get credited for the missing dessert. This time I posted a complaint on the Pollo Campero website. A very nice guy called me immediately, the same day as the order and told me that I could either drive to the store and get the missing part of my order or get it on my next order.
I just had a 2 part surgery last week and yesterday so ordering the food and having it delivered was better for me. I initiated an order on Postmates at around 11am today. I ordered some chicken and plantains. I then called the Sharon Amity location to redeem the missing flan from my previous order last week. The number was consistently busy. Then someone answered and hung up. At that point I just posted another inquiry/complaint on the website stating the above information. I also sent the same message through Postmates.
Once again, no flan! I immediately called the store. This time a gentleman answered and clearly didn’t try to help me. I very calmly and politely asked to speak with the manager. Then I was hung up on...AGAIN! I wasn’t rude, in fact I was very nice (you should never go off on people handling your food!) No one should have to do all of this to simply get what they’ve paid for.
I would have just driven to the store to pick it up last week, but I had taken some very strong medicine for the pain from the surgery I had gone through the day before. Delivery was the best option, perhaps the restaurant I chose was not!
I’m sad to say that I no longer wish to be a customer there. I’m going to let my friends and family know also. I wouldn’t want anyone to experience this aggravating and quite frankly RUDE treatment! I doubt that anyone will do anything to make this right. I’m just going to take the wasted money as a lesson learned. At least with this ridiculously long review I’ve gotten it off...
Read moreLet me start good by saying the young man who took my order was great! The other service not so. I waited for someone to attend to why I was at the counter again to make a small change for my mashed potatoes to have gravy on side instead of on them and the girl acted like she knew what I said but still my potatoes had gravy on them and when I tried to explain to her what I wanted I then realized she couldn’t understand much English (don’t take this as offensive she should have let me known she couldn’t understand me or got someone else). From just walking in the place to order and take food home the place seemed clean and family friendly. Food was just ok. Grilled chicken was moist and fresh. The fried chicken seem old and dry. Tortillas are about the same as eating paper due to the flavor and texture…AWFUL!!! Was my first time eating here and I bought the biggest family meal they make with 1/2 grilled chicken and 1/2 fried chicken bucket with sides. The plantain fries was one of the best things about the meal which is sad since you can’t really go wrong too much with making fries. The beans had a funny taste to them and the chunks of processed meat in the beans are just not appealing. The rice was ok with some mixed vegetables in it. The horchata drink from the fountain dispenser was the worst I have EVER tried. It doesn’t even constantly mix so when you get your drink it has ALL the brown cinnamon and whatever else they use sitting at the bottom. So when you get your drink you get a big serving of the brown gunk in your drink that just ends up settling on the bottom of your cup also. WORST EVER! And this comment I’m writing is based on everyone that ate the big family meal I bought for the night. I didn’t want to drive far for chicken and we wanted a whole chicken which they didn’t have so we just went ahead and tried the big family meal at this place because it was so close. Will never eat here again. Don’t see what so many people like in this place. I’m usually not the type to write bad reviews unless necessary and this seemed to have to be shared. Hope you have better...
