I used to live in Charlotte and often ordered from Samoha, so I was excited to revisit an old favorite while in town. Unfortunately, my experience on 2/26 was beyond disappointing. I spent nearly $30 ordering through Uber Eats, expecting the same quality I remembered. In the past, I was able to order Egusi soup with fish, but this time, I was only offered beef and chicken. The beef was overcooked, and the entire dish had an unbearable smell—so much so that I couldn’t get past it and had to throw everything away. I even tried tasting it, thinking it might be in my head, but I couldn’t stomach it. Since I travel for work and had a flight back to New York at 3 PM, my friend reached out to the restaurant on my behalf. Instead of offering a solution, they responded with attitude and insisted that the food be brought back to the store—completely disregarding the fact that I had ordered via Uber Eats and was no longer in Charlotte. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially as a loyal customer who once enjoyed their food. I really hope they do better in maintaining freshness and customer service because this was unacceptable.

It’s was 95 degree inside wouldn’t on the air condition . This place use to be good I’m not sure what happened the quality went down and the prices went up with less quantity of food. The suya should be cheaper . If you know suya and have gotten it in Nigeria or even in Houston, you know the street vendor don’t give fat they trim em. They give beef with lots of fat and onion for $15.99 plus tax for a small box. They don’t want to give extra seasoning I had to nearly pull teeth for a side of suya spice. I ordered jollof rice as well. The jollof rice looked nice but it just tasted scorched they should have made a new batch or took it off menu . It was dry now tomatoe flavor, seasoning . It was ask if I was eating orange burnt white rice. This place has to do a 360 turn around soon. I wanted to order other items but it was like playing chess. I was told you can’t get certain items solo. When everything is in front of you. The fish only can be order with soup or rice you can’t order it by itself. At this rate and service it will be hard to keep business when staff arugues with customer trying to make a order

Honestly I hate giving such a poor review. My egusi was terrible. I've had it in many restaurants and in Africa so I was expecting bitter. When I wanted in to get my food the restaurant had an odor and the egusi tasted exactly like the restaurant smelled. I let my twin 15 year olds try it and they also didn't care for it. We ended up throwing the dish away. We are a well traveled family and have eaten our way around 5 continents just to give context our experience has nothing at all to do with not enjoying ethnic food. It simply wasn't palatable. The service was also extremely poor, however, I tend to not care so much about the service being top tier when the owners aren't American as I realize there's a cultural shift. But to have ruse service and inedible food was just too much

100% Nigerian customer here! The egusi was everything! Comes with one choice of protein (you can request another) and your choice of solid (amala, iyan, or eba). Now the wraps of solid are a little small but it depends on how much you eat. My husband needs about 2-2.5 wraps. I can do with 1 - 1.5 wraps. Just order extra side of solid if you need it. Beef was tender, chicken was good, fried fish was good. The Efo is good but needs just a tad of salt. Nothing a sprinkle of salt can't fix and it's good to go. Puff puff was good and also the moin moin! Complete meal! It is also available to order via door dash. We ordered via door dash the first night to our hotel. We were in from out of town to watch the Charlotte Hornets. The next day we stopped by in person to check out this spot! Staff was super nice and portions were generous! We definitely had to let them know JOB WELL DONE! We had to get more of this deliciousness to take back with us home!! When in Charlotte we will...
